Hazro series - HZ30Wi, HZ30WiQ, HZ27WA, HZ27WB & HZ27WC

No way I'm going to pay £449 for it.
I have my money ready for £399. Anything higher than this, I'll pass.

This. I'll begrudgingly paying £400 (a bit of a step up from my original budget of, wait for it, £150) because it's a large IPS screen, even then I'll shed a few manly tears. Anything more and I just won't be able to bring myself to do it :(

You're joking right? Even £500 will be excellent value for money compared with the 2711 at nearly £700 at most places...

£399 is as far as I can stretch my budget to (assuming that I'm able to sell my old monitor and get some money back from other stuff).

Not everyone opting for such an awesome monitor is that rich.

And at £500 it's way more than I can justify. I don't have money to throw away like you seem to; I have various other things I want to buy many of which more so than a monitor, the £100 difference would buy me the headphone amp I've been after for example, and I wager the amp will get significantly more use than the monitor.

lol, what you've just done is like someone going to the market and seeing a TV going for £300 and feeling it's too cheap and offering more.

Hardly. The original projected figure (when I last followed the thread) was over £500.

I know, hence why I bought a 4 year old monitor from Ebay, but my point was that it would still be good value at £500 compared with other 27" IPS monitors on the market.

As said above, I couldn't be bothered to wait any more so bought a 4 year old monitor from Ebay. It was the way you said begrudgingly as if the product couldn't be justified at that kind of money to anyone - IE it was too expensive for its position.

Each person certainly has their own budget limitations and priorities but to say others are throwing away money when in fact they are investing in what they feel is a good monitor offering good value is a touch harsh. :)

I am excited about the HZ27WC at £399 or thereabout but if it turns out to be a bit more, especially to also get it shipped to where I am, a good monitor is not where I'm going to be penny pinching. It's the window to my computer, the desktop where hours of my daily work gets done, the light my eyes stare into for way too long. I'll therefore certainly pay extra for a better display that is more stress free (wide viewing angles), more accurate (good colour space), and more productive (more pixel real estate). Well, that's how it is for me and for my needs. :)
