HM Passport office

Both my wife and I unexpectedly have a week off at Easter at the same time so hoping for a quick turnaround and look out for a last minute get away cheap somewhere in Europe.

I think it was just under 2 weeks to receive my new passport. Granted i had to take the photo myself in the end but yeah, no issues at all.

Now just waiting on my driving licence to arrive as that needed renewing too.

Yea did my kids and Mrs passports last Saturday or Saturday before?

Anyway not been long at all, they are being delivered tonight apparently.

All I will say to add to this 16, 4 year old and Mrs cost me bloody £200 or so!

I was the only one that didn't need a passport, and I have two.

Some really good news about the delivery times here. In the end I decided to let the Post Office do it on Monday.

For £111 they did the application for me, took a photo that would be guaranteed to be accepted [it gets approved by their software on the spot] and sent my old passport off special delivery. I got confirmation today that my old passport has been received.

The guy at the Post Office said it should take about 1-2 weeks, so let's see. It needs to get here by the end of March!

£200 is not right surely

I renewed my 7 year old's passport and got a brand new one for my 4 year old in late Jan, and I received the updated / new passport inside 2 weeks of filling the application out online.

Yes!!!

They're working late :D

This is particularly important since I already booked my trip before renewing my passport. Yes, I know...

My new passport just arrived, a total of four days between application and receipt. That's pretty damn impressive, and it wasn't even the premium service.

Oh ****

I saw that headline this morning too  5 weeks of strikes! Very few workers could afford 5 weeks being unpaid!

On the flip side, its only 25% of the workforce actually striking. We'll see what (if any) difference it makes. Large parts of the process are surely fully automated now?

Well - I just had this email - premature moaning wasn't needed I guess!
