Some Nice work there! I have had a few the same this past few weeks, some have OC a treat and some just went under at the sign of 5mhz so must a gold batch!!!!

Good Stuff and well done to those who got thier hands on one!

Just ordered one of these so I hope they clock as well as they sound! :D

I cant help but notice simular threads from a quick google:

"AMD sending off s939 in style - 4000+ KAB1E"
"Now that conroe has arrived AMD have finally given me the golden chip i've been waiting for"

Astounding CPU for last weeks T.W.O price.

Didnt take too much too get mine stable at 3.17ghz, slight increase in voltage required tho.

Had to put a 166 divider on my memory to get it up there.

If you got the cash, invest while they are in stock. :D

Anyone had one stable at 3.2ghz or above? Mine just wont have it.

Got mine 14 hrs prime stable at below settings. Not entirely sure its 100% stable yet, will run small FFT's for 24hrs.But 14hrs blend with no errors is quite encouraging.

Had it almost stable at 3.3,all 3d marks ran o.k as did super pi,but Prime bombed quite quickly on small FFT's,also the vcore required was around 1.6.

I'll post some more screenies t'row.

24C @ 3.2 MHz, please tell me that is at idle

Yes thats idle mate, running on water with IHS removed from cpu, will post temp at full load t'row,24hrs of small FFT's should warm her up a bit. :)

Had mine 3.2 stable 12Hrs in prime 1.4v but crashed quickly in BF2..? back down to 3.0 for eveyday use. Cheap as chips Foxconn motherboard though.

Any thoughts on maximum volts for air with this chip would be useful.

Also noticed a big difference in temp readings using "CoreTemp" than with speedfan/BIOS. Is that normal?

These chips are unbeliveable! 3.24ghz prime stable!! My friend just bought one, I could might manage about the same if he gave it away to me :p . But I did upped it to 2.8ghz for him before leaving, but I don't like overclocking with ASUS, could have gotten a lot further with my DFI :D

I'm priming mine at 3.24 just now - looking good.

I'm really glad I bought this now. Combined with TCCD RAM, this system flies (Superpi 1M = 26.516s)

Stan :)

What cooling are you using as core temp seems very good for that voltage. Are you under water or on air? Please tell me its water!!

Yes,I'm on water mate.Thermochill 120.2,Laing D5,Swiftech Storm cpu,Maze 4 gpu,1/2" tygon. Its a basic setup but seems efficient enough,I've also removed the IHS from the cpu which seems to make quite a difference, possibly as much as 5-10C.

Temps are at idle in previous screen, been priming overnight however so she's a bit warmer now. KAB1E small FFT's

how do these compare to a core 2 duo at 3ghz?

Im undecided on whether to go for the 4000 or spend £180 more on the 1.86 core 2 duo.

A core2 duo is faster, infact an entry level core2 duo with a modest overclock would superpi quicker than my sandiego @3.24.

Difference in games though?

Well I haven't used one myself, but numerous benchmarks have been done and it's pretty much common knowledge now that the core2 Duo is the most efficient processor on the market.

As far as gaming is concerned,a lot depends on the resolution and type of graphics card being used,at lower res a core 2 duo will generally offer higher framerates than an A64,at higher res's though the graphics card is the main factor and an upgrade in this area would be more beneficial to framerates.
