Dunno never played it though after tweaking it it plays good and all they need too do is nerf the snipers

erm.. the installing issue could be the same one as empire total war. u put the disc in and it installs from steam unless u force it to install from the disc.

Finally finshed downloading the other half of the game, took me over 8 hours and 25% of my broadband usage per month. Have been enjoying the single player game and the 30 mins or so have been playing mp. Seems good but I am crap and have came across a hacker in ground control. I was running behind and he was clearing up all the opposition never even saw who he was shootiong at by the end of the match he 40+ kills and no deaths I managed to be killed 3 times and get a kill score of 2. Hardly saw anyone to shoot at. Oh and the intermission break is joke.

What drivers and gfx card? you got directx installed properly too? it sounds like either of these if it doesn't display on startup.
Have you searched Steam forums aswell? usually a solution there.
I'm liking this. It's not especially fantastic and ocne BF3 comes along (or Brink is as good as I hope it is) then it'll probably drop by the wayside like MoH has but I'm enjoying it so far.
The SP however is dreadfully short, it lasted me about 3 1/2 hours and the ending is a bit of a damp squib but there may be DLC and dequels extending the story. it does get very manic at the end there.

My review...
Single player is fun, solid graphics and decent story. Multi is a pile of crap that needs major work. Graphics are noticeably worse (in multi) and the gameplay is wooden.
So I wouldn't buy it cause the single only last a couple of hours. Some screens:

Finally got this game installed, downloaded, installed and after several hours worth of gaming, I finding my feelings are somewhat divided.
There's some fantastic parts to the multiplayer, like unlocking vehicles and being able to get access to your own chopper, tank etc.
No sway in the sniper rifles leading to a lot of snipers.
Short rounds, very short rounds in fact.
Numerous bugs, oh and a blatant cheater on my very first round - not a good start.

You would not believe how pathetic this game gets when snipers get upgraded to a bolt action rifle with a thermal scope addon. At that point....just don't bother. it no longer is a game where they have to search for you, they just point and click at the glowing blobs...
having some weird issues.
first up - 1 in 10 times if you die, it won't let me respawn. I have to quit the game, and then I lose all my settings for controls etc....
second - every other round I play i'll shoot someone, they won't die, then I'll notice all players are 'running on the spot' - net connection still working, TS still working etc etc. people have said this is a router issue, but every other game works fine and there are no different or non standard settings in place..... ideas????

I was having this issue, I edited my router config and since then this has not happened at all. Per chance you using a speedtouch and with BE*?
