Horizon: Zero Dawn [PS4]

Heh, no sweat. I was trying to do it with no aids but kept failing as there was a quarter left on the Bellowback. It always managed to swipe me with its face as it was always out of my view. :/

Well I've been banging on for ages about how I probably won't find a game to match Witcher 3, but here we have it. Been playing this all day and it's amazing! :D How incredible does it look as well...

Yep, I'm a huge pc gamer but this has really surprised me in a big way. Amazing game it really is, completely forgotten it's only running at 30fps as that was my original concern. But wow, I'm so into it now

Just started this. Literally on the first main mission where yet the prayer beads and have to gather some resources from them horse like robots.

Really enjoying it so far. But is it me or does this game feel similar to far cry to anyone else? Even down to the map screen, skill upgrade menu etc etc. The same sort of dynamic for collecting resources and crafting etc.

Looking forward to playing some more.

The explosives slingshot makes quick work of most beasts. :) really is worthwhile grabbing it and using it.

Indeed. Finally a good weapon to deal with the pesky stalkers.

The sticky bombs are brilliant for the shell walkers.

I'm really bad at this game... I seem to just be playing it like a total fool and rush into battles with no planning at all... The game is amazing, but its really hard to play, I need to get good : - )

Had another quick blast just did the early errand and side mission, I love the movement in the game and the animation to match, the facial animations could do with some work but that's all. I also found first power cell in the old ruin (one your in as a kid) I assume that's the quest line for the the high end outfit that makes you invincible for short bursts

When it comes to a mission I am a more careful as you know you will be facing a battle. More than a few times though, in the open world, I have taken on a bellowback or 2 to alert a nearby sabertooth or watchers and then things get a little more tricky.

I thought you lot were exaggerating about the rock throwing ones. But no. I've never had a previous fight that cost me 15 health potions. :D But I did kill both of them in the end.

Loving this game, it's so much fun being able to setup little obstacle courses of traps. Only 23% progress at the moment and I've got to have put in over 16 hours since release, I've been exploring as much of the levels/ruins as I can finding the vantage points etc. Came across my first Thunderjaw last night whilst roaming, think it maybe the most impressive thing I've seen in a game in a long time. Although still can't shake the feeling I'm playing FarCry at times.

I was the same seeing my first thunderjaw. Literally jaw dropped. I was a good distance away from it at first, and was like, no way is that thing that big.

Wait til you come across 2 :D

I must be doing something wrong, I beat two with only using my medicine bag, are you all playing on Normal or something harder?

That would do it, I picked normal and it is quite easy to be fair, almost tempted to start over on a harder setting.

Depending how hard the beasts hit you on the hardest difficulty, I remember the Bellowback in the cauldron took 3, nearly 4 bars out of my health. You've got to be super fast on the health restore/potions. It was even worse with the rock monsters. Spraying rocks on you depleted the health rapidly. Sometimes as quick as hammering the up d-pad.
