Horizon: Zero Dawn [PS4]

Yeah the camera when fighting aerial targets is horrible...thought they would have fixed it by now!

PS Stormbird + ropecaster + override = fun ;)

Yeah I never used that unless I had to e.g. In one of the trails.

I found when groups of them rope caster becomes abit annoying to do

So I received HZD yesterday, fired it up last night and finished the prologue child bit.

Due to all the high praise I was a bit miffed starting off as a kid to learn the basics, done this in Fallout, Uncharted and a ton of other games and is such an annoying trope.

Not sure about the story/setting yet as too early in but could see this becoming annoying as all this Matriarch mumbo-jumbo doesn't sit well but we'll see, open mind and all that.

My question for you folks who have been playing a while is what do you know now that you wish you'd figured out earlier?

I read one review which said set the HUD to dynamic so you don't have all the screen furniture which makes for a more immersive experience, any other advice for a newbie?

My tip would be just focus on side quests and errands early on, I found getting all the map open early helped plus you find plenty of campfires on the way.

One of the merchant always let's you buy an unlimited fast travel pack and it's well worth the investment.

Thanks for the tips, looking forward to playing tonight if I can get the wife and kids to bed early, heh.
I'd say also the matriach stuff doesn't go away either, as you get into the game you find out about the old world e.g the tech they had and how it's gone way it has etc, story of aloy and how it relates to the past

The story has peaked my interest actually now that I've got out into the wider world.

A really impressive game.

Yup its a technical marvel too i felt, Even looks stunning on a standard ps4, What they achieved is unbelievable. Im looking forward to the DLC and the sequel i hope we get

That picture is on standard PS4 from my phone, not even a proper screenshot and looks amazing.

Hard to justify buying a Pro when the vanilla looks so good.

Pro is hard to justify if you don't own 4k tv and whilst I do and I have my vanilla ps4 in another room upstairs. I only notice a slight difference in some games myself

PS4 pro on main tv in living room and vanilla ps4 on 1080p set upstairs.

I'm hoping when xbox on launches devs will use ps4 pro more.

Anyway back to game talk, how have you found the map? I felt game used too many camp fires for example

I was finding this a bit of slog initially tbh, but once the world opened up it I fell in love with it. Absolutely superb. Getting close to the end of the main story. Cracking game and looks amazing in hdr as well
