Horrible Accident

Massive fair play to you, not many people can say they have saved a life!

Huuuuge respect goes out to you, those people will be alive this Xmas thanks to you and others that stopped to help.

I can remember when people were saying the same thing about another accident in Ireland and it wasn't in the papers.
Some posters really tore into the OP when he claimed his brother had cut his daughters legs off with a lawnmower and it turned out to be true.

Time will tell. Kudos to the OP if he is telling the truth. I'm sure he will post soon to tell us where the accident happened.

You would have thought so but for whatever reason some don't. We've commented on this at work before, some just seem to get a news blackout.

Tbh probably on days when there are more newsworthy issues to write about.

Such as some famous people ripping each other on radio/tv, or perhaps some celebrity has had a boob job, etc.

You know….worthy news….

Not much you can say except bloody well done mate, you did yourself proud. Some little kiddy's around to see Christmas because of you; and hopefully the woman too. As and when this is substantiated, +1 for Man of Honour.

Still no news from the poster? Would have thought there would be something by now?

There was on his OP

Also stopped local shop to ask around hows if they alright. sadly the women died but the kid is alright and currently in hospital :(

That aside, first time I have read this. I have to say you did an amazing job really, most people would just be dumb struck in that sort of situation.

Sad to hear about the women. But at least the Child was saved

What a tragic accident, I have no doubt though that you saved the child's life. I don't know if I could do such a good job in that situation but I guess it's one of those things where you don't know until you find out. I hope you're doing alright.

Well, I think that Deluxe1 is right to question things that are put infront of him on the internet without blindly thinking "it must be true".

I must admit the story from the OP sounds great and if true is really heroic. However, my gut still tells me that until I see hard proof (not pics of a field and some rubble took from inside a car on a crap day) I don't believe it.

Sorry for being such a skeptic/pessimist but it's just what I get from reading stuff online and having to take it with a pinch of salt :)

For example, I read that Ibot has won the lottery this year and had ups and downs on the stock market. Just because I read what the little ban-worthy troll put, doesn't mean I accept it as truth.

True, but it does happen. Not that the OP has to prove anything but I would like to see something that carries a bit more weight in terms of evidence/proof.

If it were me, I would probably do my best to try and meet the boy and his family/attend the mothers funeral. Often the EMS/Town give awards to bravery and heroism and would hold a ceremony or at least send a letter of thanks or something.

All of which I would keep for personal reasons to show to future family and friends, etc. It's just a nice thing to have done/happen. Hopefully something substantial like the aforementioned will arrise and keep the doubters like me quiet :)

(I just need more for me personally to believe this story on the internet).

Maybe,

But seems a bit odd that you would come up with such a massive story just to well fool a few ocuker's

I just dont see the point in making a story like this up.

I have heard much more elaborate tales purported to be true on the internet only to be proved fake. Some old members from here have even went as far as faking their own death.

I'm not saying that psychas' story isn't true. It is a fairly plausible scenario and fair play to him for doing what he did if it in fact did happen. However, having heard many jazzed up tales of heroics on the internet before you cannot blame people for showing scepticism, especially when there is nothing on the local or national news. Surely such a tale of selfless heroism and saving a childs life only a few days before Christmas would be on the news? Especially here.

Anyway, if the story is true psychas, you deserve a large pat on the back.
