Yes. I've pretty much stopped for this reason. Do enjoy a NA beer from time to time. Have recently tried Professor David Nutt's synthehol product "Sentia." Not quite the wonder horse I was hoping and it's tough to drink straight.

So you won't be changing your name to Quark and opening a bar? :)

I'd be a bit leery about taking what is claimed to be a new class of drug. If it works, where's the safety testing?

Not very often these days, the odd birthday or Christmas party but it'll usually be around 5 double jack and coke, bunch of random shots, maybe the odd beer depending on company but I don't tend to drink beer on a night out. So probably in the 6-9 category but back in the day 9+ sometimes happened.

I don't really get properly drunk though - I get to the point where I just know 1 more drink will make me throw up and stop - I don't think I can get blind drunk as I always throw up first.

I've been to 2 parties this week, a wrap party for 'Our flag means death season 2', and a staff party which we ended up crashing the Sweet tooth season 3 xmas party, both were all expenses paid, i probably drank between 8-10 (440ml drinks as we don't get proper pints here in NZ) at each party.

When you’re out on the bevvies, what’s your typical consumption? Trying to get a feel for how I compare to others.

I need to cut down cos my hangovers are getting too bad these days.

Now.. possibly one (I'm close to 50 now, married etc but the mrs doesn't drink).

Back at uni 25+ years ago, I think 9 pints of Guinness was the highest. Although in my early work years we had the 12 pubs of Christmas with a drink in each on a friday after work. A mate and I managed 5 bottles of red wine (I top out at about 1.5 bottles max) in the last few years over a BBQ.

We do a summer BBQ. Usually I have a keg of Chiti or something else pretty strong along with larger beers but only tend to have about a pint as I'm cooking etc. Got the stock up for NYE :D which will have beer, wine, chocolate martinis, and champers at the end of the evening. I have a mass of French beer and wine from a recent trip to the inlaws however the same drinking buddy has left his mrs so the opportunity to drain the wine collection is now few and far between!

The worst part for me is the lying in bed at the end of the night with the room spinning and feeling like I'm going to chunder. The hangovers also suck.

I remember a business trip to Ireland back in the 2000s where I was so drunk I remember thinking it may be a good idea to position myself into the recovery position on the hotel bathroom floor. I passed out and woke up in a pool of my own vomit (that stained the grout after I cleaned it up). The mrs has seen me vom only once due to too much red wine at a mate (that has stopping issues).

0 usually as I don't drink. But on the occasions that I do I'll have a couple and that's it. Not one to get drunk really, don't enjoy it.

I'll generally only drink for work events, such as Christmas Do last week, internal Christmas do or we have a Spring/Summer do, too. On those occasions I'd be in the 6-9 drinks but would likely be double gins generally. At our Christmas ball I had least 10 units of Disaronno and didn't feel tipsy at all. The week after, 4 double gins and I was certainly tipsy at least.

it really depends if it's with the lads or my wife. in truth I very rarely go out..... but IF I do and with the lads it tends to be pretty hardcore. I can't manage the 20 pints I used to but easily double figures.

I much prefer home drinking ..... either invite people round my house on my arcade / pinball / PC or round friends house watching a movie or hot tub etc. makes for a far cheaper night and personally I prefer it much more. the kind of pub I like none of my friends do. (open fire, small and villagey in winter and good beer garden near a river in summer)
many of my friends like the kind of bars that have people half our age all in designer gear where you sometimes see footballers etc and drinks are closer to £10 than £5.
Not my scene at all and given most of my clothes are from Sainsbury's I don't fit in.

In my mid 30s I can't cope with the hangovers, it takes around 2-3 days to fully recover. I used to binge a lot being early 20s the usual cheap alcohol being daft etc...

Now I try stick to the same drink when I go out. Probably count on 1 hand the amount of "big" nights out I have over the course of a year. There are a lot more work functions I attend now but I am not as wild as 10-15years ago.... thankfully as well.

I still roll back the years if needs be, but I only have a few of them left in me :)

Depends on how long i'm out for, usually i'd say a pint per 30 minutes. So 2 hours would be 4 pints, maybe slow down a little over longer periods.

I do wish i drank less though. This weekend i told myself i wasn't drinking so i could get up early to run, my wife then opened wine for a stew on Friday and i finished the bottle, then had a bottle of red last night. Saturday we were out with my parents and drank then too.

If it's not available it doesn't bother me, if it's in and especially open i can't not drink it!

Think usually 5 pints of Lanlord or whatever other real ale is available finished with a couple of double JD's/rum & coke. (that's the cola sort :D)

Very rarely go over this as i get a bit vomity. :p

Never been a big drinker and it has saved me a lot of money over the years. Although with the prices these days.......

I don't really drink anymore regularly but if I do a bottle of wine or a 6 pack.

Pubs I'll drink a couple fast then try and slow down to make it last. No more than 4 to 6.

I've grown up now. In my youth I'd drink myself to oblivion as fast as I could and end up puking somewhere. Pathetic looking back lol, but that's the joy of immaturity.

I can tolerate my alcohol very well I doubt you'd be able to tell if I'd have drink a bottle or 6. That's why I say when ive crashed the stolen car into a ditch.
