Once we've sold everything... then what..
3%. They will make our bins collections from weekly (one of a few councils) to fortnightly later this year. The problem lies that the general rubbish bins are the small bins 140L https://www.expresswheeliebins.co.uk/products/140-litre-blue-wheelie-bin. Living alone, my bin is 40-50% full after a week. My mum and dad - both retired. Their bin is two thirds - three quarters full after a week. So using a small bin for fortnightly collections isn't going to work for 90% of the council area. Great example is Christmas/NY when they let us have up to 3 black bags - most households have at least one bag extra.
Either provide us with the standard 240L bins or swap the bins around as our recycling bins are the standard 240L ones. The former will be more expensive to implement and the latter is the cheapest. If the council do nothing, then don't moan to us about more fly tipping and more vermin.
Yes it is, I’m impacted by this. The fact that no one is being held accountable is laughable. If I had wasted that amount of cash on IT projects and such, I’d be out of a job before I could even pack my things up.I predict a riot.
21% is obscene, isn't it a Labour run council?

Isn't part of their issue the equal pay compo? I know that's not the full part of their debt, but was likely the icing on the cake.
I don't know enough to comment on what was behind the equal pay claim, but you do have to wonder whether the council were stung with how much they've been made to pay out for it.

Yeah, I'm calling BS on this one... There aint no way a single person can thrown away 70L of general waste per week if they are also using their recycling bins properly.
Just buy a bigger one then. Our council here charge you for extra bins.
Yeah that is crazy.
There's 2 of us and I think we will 50 litres in 1.5 weeks.
Pretty sure we are gonna have that+6pc riseMy council, Dudley, just started charging for green bin collection. *******!

Only time our black bin (which isn't a big one) gets full in 2 weeks is if I have to clean out the hens
