Hey, I'm having a problem with my 311c and was wondering if anyone can help.

It can playback 1080p video no problems using DXVA in MPC-HC with the latest nvidia drivers on Windows 7. It also displays fine on my HDTV (Sony 40V3000) when in duplicate/clone mode, which defaults to the HDTV being in 1080p mode @ 1366x768... all is well.

While this is still higher than 720p and looks decent, I'd clearly like to go all the way to full 1080p. However when I do this, or if I use any resolution other than 1366x768, or any other display mode such as HDTV only, the video only plays back at 10-20 FPS, dropping frames like crazy making it unwatchable, despite still using DXVA as normal. It's as if it's having trouble outputting over HDMI, but it works flawlessly when in clone mode and things like games work great on the HDTV at any resolution - I've just been playing AI War: Fleet Command with no issues at 1080p and it ran great, I don't get it! Ideas?!

Well, just waiting for some money to come through and i may buy one of these netbooks for the wife. In total, it will only have cost me £50 after selling a few bits and bobs!!

Just to give my quick 2 cents on spending time using my mini 311, by the way I have the Model with n270 and upgraded with 3gb ram windows 7 ultimate. Gaming wise you're probably only going to able to run fps games from before 2007. Tried one of the latest games released. The new wolfenstien on this machine. This is a taxing game to run. Minimum specs qoute pentium 4 3.0ghz and a decent graphics card. The ion chip with 256mb of vram runs the game at native res medium to low settings which seems very good. Here's the crutch, CPU usage is at 100 constantly. Meaning the game stutters along, firing had a one second lag. Rendering this unplayable. Ran batman Arkham aswell. 1024 x 768, low settings, stutters aswell CPU at 100% constantly. Conclusion I've come to is that with 3gb of ram the ion is quite capable graphically, just most modern games are unplayable due to how poor the CPU performance not because the graphics chipsets can't Handle them. Atom 1.6ghz is about quivelent to pentium 4 1.8ghz in terms of raw performance. Just to put into perspective how the latest games fair. Any other owners have a view on this?

N270 is code for the atom processor running at 1.6ghz, 533mhz fbs
I basically have the exact same model as Overclockers is selling has one free dimm slot, 1gb soldered. Put a 2gb sodimm ddr3 1033mhz shud work.

On a side note, people who are actually waiting to get the dx10 compatibility with the full ion. The ion le is basically good enough with dx 9. It runs aero perfectly in win 7. Dx10 features are used fully on the latest games, with the CPU bottleneck looks like they are not playable. So you won't be able to take advantage of that anyway.
