** HP Compaq Mini 311c-1010SA Intel Atom N270 ION 11.6" Netbook @ £314.99 inc VAT **

The problem mrk was windows 7 version N. I tried a normal version and works a treat.

The N versions have no media capabilites so it just didnt work. Can you believe it!!
 
Can anyone summarise the steps needed to be taken to get the full ION drivers installed?

I have looked on the nvidia site and the only ION drivers on there are either the desktop variant or some beta drivers for the ION LE. Are you running the desktop drivers?

Are these drivers being installed normally or are we having to add code to a certain file as described on the hpmini site?

Lastly, there was a mention that you have to do something when switching back to DX9 games as there is performance issues when running in forced DX10?

I am using a N510 and not the HP, does this make any difference to the ION drivers?
 
I am looking at getting this netbook and having read the last page which involved drivers e.t.c can someone explain to me which ones i would need e.t.c. also how to install them, How much more ram will i need and what type e.t.c,
Does anyone know if this netbook can play Football Manager 2010?

My friend told me in the states you can get these with N280, wireless N, win 7, 3Gig ram for around 390 quid (converted at 1.64) ... are we going to get these options in the UK anytime soon?

Got mine running sweet :), Win7 is just the nuts on this netbook :D

I'm gonna try FM2010 later to see if it will run, I expect it will, but this game is more CPU intensive than graphics, and the game specs say they do require a min of a 2GHz CPU, so not hoping for much there. Interestingly though, CM2010 only requires 1.6GHz CPU, so that may run better?

Any way to access more BIOS options as I've tried every combination of keys possible lol :p

Awesome netbook and I'm glad I got one :)
 
Amazing piece of kit. Win 7 run like a desktop machine lol.

I cannot believe how well it runs with the 1gb. Can't wait to see it in action with the 3gb!! Might do a video of it in action.

I think I mentioned this some time back, with vat it's £450 + we always get charged about 15% more again I can easily see that model being £499.

As for if/when it will be avilable, no idea. Best off asking HP/Compaq.

Just got mine, thanks OCUK! Couple of questions:
what is the space just beside the HDD and behind the memory slot for? Looks like its ready for something else? Any ideas?
Also, I jsut noticed mine has a SIM card slot behind the battery which I wasn't expecting. Have you all got the same? :) Its charging now so I can't confirm it works or not, but will in due course.

I believe the spare slot is for a WWAN card.

Mine has SIM slot too :)


Have you been brave enough to try new BIOS Raikiri?

Is the SIM slot for HSDPA/3G? If so, do they all come with them? It's not in the specs!

Was looking at getting a notebook and I'm specifically looking for one with one so I can use my T-Mobile Mobile BB with it!
