Well I got my HP Mini 311c and im sticking with XP as the ION GPU plays some not so old games
did u unlock the ION LE also still 1gb ram? what have u changed or are u keeping it as is when trying games? a list if possible
Im sticking with XP so theres no point unlocking the LE. Ive out in another 2GB of ram, System Resource shows it as 2.75GB as 256MB goes to the ION GPU. SO far ive played Torchlight, AoE3, Max Payne 2 and UT99 all run fine at 720P. Also HD vids are great too

not that im aware of as they are just under a removable hatch and i dont recall any warranty stickers etc
Nope it doesn't, the HP site even shows you how to do it. Overall its a great little Netbook, and when its overclocked to 2Ghz its a dream to use, at 1.6Ghz it can get a bit sluggish.
I'm so tempted to install Windows 7 on it but have yet to see what impact this has on games.

How easy did you find it to overclock? Are you doing it at bios level? I tried and ended up killing mine had to be sent off for repair

I had the same problem ended up using a different exe and it worked great think it ended with 169 or so
The file HPBC228.exe I have downloaded seems to be a virus.
Can anyone point me to a clean file?

Ordered mine, finally I'll be able to play the likes of Half-Life 2 when bored at college! 
StarCraft II works well with a bit of overclocking too.
Replacing my N110, always wanted some light gaming and the bigger screen/resolution will help a lot.

how long does laptops/netbook tend to last for when overclocked tho? do they die often?
also how much differnce would it be from leaving it at stock to upgrading ram / unlocking ion , iv never really did anything with laptops etc so any advice would nice ,

I just ordered one today. I plan to run XP Professional and OC to 2Ghz, if possible.
I now need to order 2GB Memory.
I read 2GB 1333Mhz DDR3 is the best option, but I'm not sure which brand to get? Can someone who has good success oc'ing this please recommend some RAM? Which exact brand/type should I go for?
Or would I likely achieve by target by just sticking with: 2GB Corsair CM3X2GSD1066 PC3-8500 SO-DIMM?
