Had a touch of fortune. The night this firesale kicked off I missed out but a work mate managed to buy one from the aircport terminal for £73 tax free.

We have had a bit of banter for a few weeks about him 'stealing' my touchpad because he wasn't even interested in one until we all went on a frenzy trying to get one.

He's now decided he doesn't even use it and has offered it to me at the price he got it :)

I suppose there is no chance of accessories still kicking around for them but I'm chuffed to get one eventually :)

I wonder if we really have seen the last of these being offered at the original 'fire sale' prices?

There has been talk of a 'final' production run of these by HP, with mixed reports as to whether or not any of these will actually reach the UK.

However, I have a feeling that there are still some either tucked away in a warehouse somewhere, or possibly even still on a slow boat from China!

I am pleased that I finally managed to buy one, but still wish that I could have got it cheaper than the DSG's bundled price.

I think people have gone so silly, retaliers are unlikely to want them, they are like a hot coal... even with CPW only selling in their shop it still caused issues, with people literally going into stores and just staying in there until deliveries come in, I mean cmon FFS, I am really surprised these managers did not tell them to GTFO..

people have lost their minds over these, normal sensible people have reverted to 2 year olds and all they care about is a HP Touchpad...

Even if I had nothing to do would I really want to stand for 8 hours in a CPW shop on the off chance... I also think people are still being greedy and wanting them just to make a easy profit

I should imagine we'll se a them again in a few weeks, unlikely to be at firesale prices though, but not far off ;)

This is the issue. People who genuinely want a touchpad are having trouble getting one due to people buying to sell. When the insentive is there to make a profit people will wait in shops, they will buy as many as they can in one go and hoover up stock from anywhere they can.

However, the average joe like me who doesn't have the time to trawl through CPW gets stiffed. I got a Pre 3 and I got it at a good price - but I was only able to do that due to the contact because people aren't buying to sell due to the unclear terms and conditions.

If the touchpads had originally been 1 per person and people refused to pay silly prices for them on Ebay then there would have been plenty to go around. I have had orders in for when they pop up on online but unfortuantly all have been cancelled, I know this is pot luck, but again, with people buying to sell the incentive for them to sit in front of a web page refreshing all day is there, where-as I would like one to compliment my phone and as a toy - hence I don't fancy spending most of my day trawling websites and brick and motar shops.

Meh, bit of a rant but if I really wanted one I could have got myself in gear and done it I suppose.

Trying to get one of these since it all started with no luck for when I go into hospital for a few days in Nov. Pretty much given up now. Is it worth trying to get one on the bay for about £250 or should I be looking at something else. Want something that can play either divx or mkv so I can watch stuff while in hospital lol.

I think if I were you, I would wait until nearer November, when even eBay prices will be lower than they are now, and it is also possible that something even more 'interesting' like (for example) the new Amazon tablet will be available by then.

Cool good to know theres some new stuff on the horizon you know what its like though once you want to buy something its hard to hold off :D

Interesting... I presume all the 'free' (0.00) ones were 'gifts' as a contract inducement, or something?

Surprisingly few around the £89 mark though, although it does look as if someone paid £400 for one!

It would be interesting to see a similar chart for the 32GB models.

Yep :(

Mine already 720p and they wouldn't play properly.

I shall try again tonight with a variety of MKV's

Well just bought kalemsoft and its streaming avatar in 1080p from my pc wireless fine and a couple of other hd films I tried.

Well impressed. Just can;t get it to work remotely through my firewalls yet. :(

Pretty sure that's on ebay, with £0 being 'did not sell'.

What happens with them? I can play back 720p MKVs fine but with 1080p the audio is out of sync.

Not really an issue though, as the best resolution to use is 1024x600.
