HTC touch diamond

I am in two minds wether to get this or wait for the c905.

My o2 upgrade is due on the 23rd of this month and for some reason as already stated, the XDA Ignito as been removed from the o2 website:confused:So I ended up buying it from the bay, brand new and going to use my upgrade for the C905, if it officially gets released on the 20th like I’ve heard.
Abit off topic but because I brought my XDA Ignito from the bay, if the phone happens to become faulty after a few months(hopefully that won’t happen)does anyone know if o2 will repair it under warranty?

Got this phone at the weekend - loving it so far. One small thing that niggles me though is the large flippy clock on the Home Screen has disapearred in favour of small 'normal' numbers. This happened on the first day, I then updated the ROM to the latest 1.93 (I'm with Orange btw) and the flippy clock returned.....but now it's disappeared agan!!

I'm probably missing something obvious and to be honest, I kinda prefer the small style clock, but it bugs me that I dont now have the choice, or what caused it to change in the first place!

Anyone else seen this?

Slide your finger up the screen and it'll come back, slide it down and it goes away again.

I'm on my second one after the first developed a fault (the screen calibration went crazy after about 5 minutes). When it was working it was great although I did find a few of the function a little fiddly (choosing an alternative word in a text anyone!).

I'll be looking to flash this in the near future and the Dutty ROM seemed really nippy on the last one I had.

Managed to get mine for free on Dolphin 40 (£40 per month, 12 month contract, 600 mins, 500 texts and free handset. Also got £75 automatic cashback which was nice).

Can anyone recommend the best program for smooth video playback?

I have coreplayer 1.2.5, but playback of my uncompressed xvid/divx movies still have semi-stutterey video, and the benchmark results are all at 85% ish?

I've noticed that under the preferences it defaults to Qtv display with a "TyTN II driver mode" enabled.

Are there any significant changes I should be making in the preferences, or would I be better of re-encoding my files (and if so, to what format?)

Many thanks.

Just got my HTC touch Diamond, i got an unbranded version, ie the original one on T mobile.

But have a few questions,

Is anyone experiencing any back light leaking from where the keypad joins the screen? I am getting some on the left hand side but its only really visible in a relatively dark room. Its kinda annoying and seriously thinking of sending it back for another one or am i being to picky??
I have uploaded a picture to show this, the light is escaping from the white line.

and anyone know how i can use the gps? google maps keeps saying this service is not usable.

thanks

Mine has the same prob but to be honest it doesnt really bother me...if it bothers u then send it back for a new one.

As for the GPS, make sure your standing outside...it might take a few secs for it to lock on a satellite etc. Also make sure your signal strength is good as well.

@Spawn

thanks, the gps works now. Think i will not bother sending it back as this seems to be working just fine now and don't want to take the risk of getting a broken one.

Was wondering, is there anyway to put windows into higher resolution ie 640x480?
I have installed adobe version 2 for pc, as adobe reader LE, is just utter rubbish but i have to scroll too much
would love to put it into higher resolution like i could with my pda and also to make windows itself to switch to landscape rather than doing it inside adobe.

18, could have had it on a 12 month contract but no loyalty bonus applied so it would have been £40 each month.

Well i've gone back to them and they said i'd have to cancel the current deal and renegotiate a new one, but as the phone hadnt been despatched he went away and cancelled it without even asking me! So I now have to ring back tomorrow and start all over again! Sheesh! Hp[efully get the phone for free though....

Just ordered this on 02.

Free XDA Ignito
600 mins
1000 texts
unlimited internet
£20 a month

Can't wait for it to arrive! :D

Well, looks like you got a really good deal. Went back and forth for two days through upgrades and retentions and everyone maintained that the price for the phone on the £35/mo tariff was £99 and that no one should be getting it cheaper than that unless they'd spent a fortune in the past. Also turns out that the guy I spoke to yesterday never did cancel my upgrade and so my phone was despatched earlier today! Still, looking forward to my new phone :)

Weird, they seemed really easy going when I spoke to them and pretty much offered me what I wanted without me having to persist/argue, guess it can depend on who you get through to as some are really helpful whilst others just want you off the phone asap.

Should have mine Monday as I got an email saying it'd been dispatched today. :)

Ermmm as far as im aware there is no way of putting the screen into a higher resolution.

It should already be 640x480?

I think i am being misunderstood here guys, so let me explain more clearly

I have a dell x50v pda, with windows 2003 se mobile on it. The dell had a screen resolution of 320x240(ie this is what windows was showing at) although the screen pixel count was 640x480. I had a little program called SeVga that would force windows to display at 640x480. The writing and icons was tiny but viewing pdf files was much easier.

I can barely view pdf files on this Touch Diamond, my friends iphone was so much easier to view pdf files with and it has a much smaller screen resolution(pixel count)

so though maybe there is a way to force windows to display at higher resolution. Actually did not Microsoft sort this out with windows mobile 5/6?

hope that is more clear.
