HTC U11

well yes your right on that, didn't realise you were meaning the 128gb either, the only thing I miss on the u11 is wireless charging, otherwise a great phone bar being a fingerprint magnet :)

It's a great phone even though I keep getting hankerings of switching phones as I'm a self confessed phone-aholic :D

As for the fingerprint magnet side of things I bought a clear back protector from aliexpress which solves the issue and protects the back from scratches.

Managed to pick up a brand new one of these cheap, I wasn't looking to replace my HTC 10 just yet but I got offered the U11 at a price I couldn't refuse (and I can sell if I don't like it).

I really love the phone apart from one thing. I can't believe there is no way to charge the phone and listen to music on standard headphones at the same time, even with one of the USB C adapters available from third parties. This is potentially a show stopper for me, I travel a lot by train and I especially like to fall asleep on planes listening to my podcasts while charging my phone. It seems like a massive oversight.

I have the perfect solution for you.

Since both phones will be on at least Nougat, get a USB-C to USB-C cable and connect both phones together. Set the HTC 10 to charge the connected device (U11), and play your casts on the 10 via the headphone jack.

So simple!

I've got another problem now that if I try and invoke Alexa, it doesn't do anything for a long period, maybe even half an hour. Then I see the phone wake up and if I unlock it it has the Alexa voice app open waiting for me to talk.

Anyone else who has bought one, did you get the UK adaptor? Mine only included the euro 2 pin in the box.

Luckily I'd paid for an extra charger so got a proper wall mount one

Yes I got the UK adapter, purchased the phone from a UK supplier though.

I got Alexa working again, the HTC Alexa app didn't seem to like the Google Now launcher.

Still miss having a proper headphone cable but I bought some 15 quid anker Bluetooth headphones which are surprisingly good. It will be annoying on my next long haul flight though. I might buy a second set of headphones.

did you not get the USB C headphones with the phone? they are actually really good! comparable to a £50-£60 pair of buds easily

As soon as I heard rumours of the U11+ coming out I sold my U11 and put the money aside for the new version.
November 2nd couldn't come soon enough

I'm waiting fot the U11+ too. Was looking at the Mate 10 but 1080P at that price put me off, then i started looking at the U11 128gb which was a bargain compared to the other premium phones at £584. Hopefully the + wont at £300 to the price.

The leaked video of the + is up on Phandroid. Confirms it will have wireless charging and gives the prices if you can understand German.

If it had a 6" 16:9 display it'd pretty much be an instant buy but will have to see how the dimensions compare against the regular U11 before I get too excited. Does tick most of the boxes though but so does my regular U11

Pretty much confirmed to have a 6" 18:9 ratio

Near enough 4,000mAh, water resistance, wireless charging and 128GB of storage and 6GB RAM

That's all going to come with a price tag of 799 euros
