HTC Vive

I've bought the Vive for the sitting down 'cockpit experience'. The hand-held sensors are an added bonus, but the videos seem to be missing the point.

A lot of tech demonstrations focus on simple games rather than what the games I play seem to really require.

But, I'm still looking forward to getting a Vive...

What kind of specs are we talking for the Vive? Is it going to depend on the game or do you need extra power for all that stuff going on?

Edit: Oh there is a sticky never mind!

Apparently it may come with wall mounts in the retail release. I don't fancy tripods, as it'll take away play space.

This may be taking over my house a little but my VR space was looking a bit sparse so I made a "feature" of the rear wall.

Not sure how many people will get it :)

Been looking at a lot of Vive videos lately and that thing looks like a ton of fun. I would definatly go for that over the rift purely for the room VR space. As fun as it is sitting down it looks like its on another level when you can move around freely in your room and react in the world.
The only thing thats putting me off getting a consumer version is resolution. My note 4 is quad HD and still feels like the resolution isn't enough for me to enjoy it fully.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks that. I feel like your going to need 4k on each screen before it becomes really special.

Good "review" of the Vive from someone who has had the Vive-Pre for a month.

Yep same chap I posted above as he's fairly amateurish which can be more helpful sometimes.

EDIT: of course having just said the above and then started to watching the vid he's getting better at editing :)
