I agree.. I'd love to know if Nando volunteered to slow Lewis for Ocon or if the team had to ask him and hope he'd agree!!! George is a great guy and a great driver

I’m sure a message of ‘Ocon is still in P1, Hamilton is closing over 3s a lap’ would get the message across. Great race, but a terrible circuit for racing, even DRS barely makes it possible.

Would have been a dull race if it had been dry all race .... maybe Bernie's old idea of watering the track should be deployed at Hungary each year?

I'm kinda torn on this though. Whilst I agree it's not a great circuit for racing... If DRS worked as well as it did on many tracks. The entire first lap would have been a moot point, as would Hamilton going to the back due to the restart chaos. He'd have passed every car and effortlessly cruised to a win with a bunch of uninteresting DRS passes and we'd all be grumbling that the race was pants and that DRS is pants. lol

Hopefully the 2022 cars can actually follow and then it’ll be problem solved. The rule changes for this year to improve ‘overtaking’ have been a joke and clearly had another agenda.

“Monaco without the buildings” is an excellent description of the Hungarian GP circuit. Very few chances to overtake apart from fast car on new tyres vs. slow car on shot tyres as the DRS zones did very little apart from generating DRS trains.

New tyres and a car that has half it's engine not working still doesn't equal a pass at Monoco.

Fingers crossed! I really want to see battles like Lewis/Alonso - but on merit with similarly performing cars. The dream would be a battle like that, eventually an overtake - but the car that's behind then being in a position to fight back rather than drop away a few seconds a lap!

They said exactly the same thing when new regs were introduced in 1998, they said the same when new regs were introduced in 2009, they said the same in 2014 when new regs were introduced.

I think the only way you will get decent racing is high horsepower and low aero grip. Basically Nascar :p. Budget cap will make things even worse as if you do not get the regs right out of the gate you are basically buggered.

May hopefully solve the following issue, but doesn't solve the issue these cars are absolutely massive now. Hopefully if the next set of engine regs can be agreed the cars can also go on a diet.

Russell's much lauded radio message. Lets be honest; at the time - what difference did Russell saying " prioritise Latifi" make? Williams would have happily screwed Russell regardless to prioritise whoever is leading and lets not pretend that adjusting Russell's strategy would have made any real difference; its not like Latifi was 3rd and Russell running in 4th.
Frankly I think he said it knowing that team radio would pick it up and broadcast it.
