HUNGARORING - BUDAPEST - HUNGARY Grand Prix 2009 - Race 10/17

What the hell are they going to do, bar make f1 a closed vehicle championship.
This is a racing accident, the drivers know they put their lives at risk when racing.
Now the health and safety muppets will be out and will try to ruin f1 more.
I expect their answer will be lower speeds....
Exactly it was a 1 in a million freak accident, the odds of a spring falling off a car bouncing back up the track at just the right velocity to hit a driver behind in the head must be huge!

Sticking a roof on the cockpit would be more dangerous than leaving them open imo, if the car caught fire and the roof got stuck or damaged in a crash trapping the driver, not to mention risks of banging your head against it in an accident.

"Second brain scan on Massa is clear, according to the hospital. His family has arrived and Ferrari boss S. Domenicali is at hospital" -- JA Twitter

Second brain scan "clear"... whatever that means. Sounds positive though...

Thye have to be seen to be doing something. It is a freak accident, and even if they tighten up (if its possible) car component quality (assuming thats the thing that caused ruben's car to break), you still have henry surtee's accident to sort (as no matter how good the cars are, when they crash... debris will be everywhere).

I assume bleeding on the brain etc. I don't think they can see brain damage and the like from a scan?

@frakker: Kaspersky just blocked your sig with 'Trojan.HTML.Dosser.c'... swear I've seen your sig before so don't know if anything has changed.

i think you're jumping the gun a bit. it would be much worse if they didn't start an investigation and just wrote it off as a freak accident, when there could be a simple but fundamental flaw somewhere

I think it is highly sensible and prudent to investigate what happened. As with any accident that results in such an injury.
Helmets could be improved to protect against such circumstances and there may be other simple improvements that could be implemented to help save lives.
The first stage of any investigation will be to establish the circumstances and forces involved. Then decisions can be made to act or not.
Failure to at least probe the incident would be highy irresponsible!

"The KERS in Hamilton’s car will give him about 18 metres advantage on the run down to Turn 1. It’s more of a help here than it was in Germany and we saw what devastation the KERS cars inflicted there on the championship contenders. Starting 6th and 7th Heikki Kovalainen and Kimi Raikkonen also have the potential to get involved in the action at the front." -- JA Twitter

JA reckons LH will gain 18 meters from KERS. LH could be in for a good race provided he doesn't cross Mr Mark "Don't move around in braking zones please" Webber.

I just love the BBC and their coverage of programs like Formula 1. That intro was epic, awesome editing, great music - really gets you pumped and psyched for the GP... like some epic gladiatorial contest.

Unlike ITV who have no passion for the sport other than making money.

It's just a JPG and a hyperlink... The solution? Get a new AV or just don't use those pieces of scaremongering malware in the first place.
lol what? I just warn the guy incase there is anything wrong and you reply with that? Yeah cos Kaspersky is scaremongering software. Please get back in bed and get out the right side. Anyways.... lets leave the retardness alone and back to the F1.

"Kaspersky is scaremongering software"

It is though - as your experience of it has just proven :D Anyway, this is more for the Windows forum. Back on topic...

Dumb question; If re-fueling is banned in 2010, how will the cars last 60 laps or will it be a shorter race? Please don't flame, I'm an F1 newbie!
