HUNGARORING - BUDAPEST - HUNGARY Grand Prix 2009 - Race 10/17

Gaining information and spying has been part of F1 for even longer than Ive been watching it. Alonso was just that, caught up in the loop.
Every driver on the grid today wants to know how the top teams are balancing their cars and wouldn't be afraid of asking. In the lower Formula's the drivers share or copy each other. Hamilton was the same in Karting until he got £100,000 per year to run his Kart then it went secretive as it became serious.
There is more to the incident that we know. So dont get the hump with Alonso.

Alonso wasn't caught up in the loop, he was the loop. He was directly involved not indirectly caught up.

Rubbish, it was Pedro who told him they had access to Ferrari data. There was a reply email published of Alonso telling Pedro what to ask for. Stop your hate for Alonso and look up the emails that were released in the court hearing. On top of that theres still a lot we dont know after Bernie got involved. McLaren and Hamilton have since shown they are not whiter than white.

So I suppose if Alonso hadnt have joined McLaren, McLaren would never have recieved the information from Ferrari?

Alonso was there. The information was available. And he asked what Ferrari were doing and how the McLaren car was comparing to the Ferrari. I would've done exactly the same and I have no doubt that Hamilton also took a peak at the information. Any competitive driver (and in F1, all drivers are competitive) would've taken a look, firstly, out of curiosity and secondly, to possibly gain an advantage.

Yeah I imagine thats why Alonso did a deal for immunity.

Gotta love all the digging up of old topics that have been discussed (over the top) previously. Great.

Here's a nicer one to dig up. From the '08 Belgian GP thread:

Button for the win.

</stir>

Heh.

I know sunama will vehemently disagree, but I think Button would be a title prospect if he had something decent to drive.

I wonder if sunama does still disagree about that one? I know Brawn have taken a dip in form of late, but it can still happen for them :)

Hehehe. Lets wait and see what happens.

Whats worrying for Button is that if he finishes out of the points on 2 occassions and Webber wins those 2 races, Button will have lost his lead. Its quite shocking how BrawnGP came up so quickly and have also gone down so quickly.

But they were workng to a different interpretation of the rules, then there was the wait for the appeal, now the other teams have copied them.

The funny thing is, the recent one was dug up in hate of Alonso, but its fine for 90% of F1 fans to hero worship a worse kind of cheat and a bad sport.

Then again cheating and depriving others is pretty much the way of our world.

But didnt BrawnGP bring a host of upgrades to their car for the Hungarian GP?

Its a lot easier to build a fast car when you have testing and a budget for it. Its a lot harder to improve on it through the season, this is where having someone like Newey becomes a massive advantage. :D

Ross does everything.

Including pushing the tyre trolley in Malaysia. :D

For Newey to be as cool as Ross he needs to buy the BMW team up and rename it Newey GP. :p

Nah if you want to see cool you need to see Newey wrecking lawns in exotic cars, cant quite see Brawn doing that. Seems more like slippers and cocoa to me :p

I believe that Newey has worked for more F1 teams that Brawn has had hot breakfasts . . . in fact, are there ANY F1 teams that Newey hasn't walked away from at some time or other?

:D
