HUNGARORING - BUDAPEST - HUNGARY Grand Prix 2009 - Race 10/17

I believe that Newey has worked for more F1 teams that Brawn has had hot breakfasts . . . in fact, are there ANY F1 teams that Newey hasn't walked away from at some time or other?

:D

WRONG! :D
Newey: Fittipaldi, Force, March, Leyton House, Williams, McLaren, Red Bull

Brawn: March, Williams, Haas Lola, Arrows, Bennetton, Ferrari, Honda, Brawn

So, Schumacher is getting a try in the car before the next GP.

Even though there is current in season ban on testing, seems abit unfair to me. One rule for some and another for others.

I found it highly ironic that a 7 times world champion with years of formula 1 experience is allowed a days testing to get aclimatised to the car. Yet a week ago Jaime Alguersuari was given abit of stick after beingplonked into a F1 car with no experience bar afew straight line tests and public demo's. Why was he not allowed anything? Granted there was not a great deal of time between him being named and racing but somthing could have been allowed.

Once is an unforeseen change, the other was a change made on purpose

A change made on purpose that will have been planned for quite some time, more than enough time to get Alguersuari some form of test. Be it this years car or last years.

And they could have done that by letting him run on Friday practice at the expense of one of the other two drivers if the change was pre-planned long ago.
Equally they can run cars from previous years if they want, provided that if they are owned by the team they are not modified from their original condition.

The reason Schumi used a private car is because he wanted to run with electronics off, possibly reduced downforce and with slicks .. something they could not change legally on a Ferrari owned car.

Something that has most likely been discussed and is quite obvious, but, how is the testing ban maintained and regulated? How do they monitor if someone has done some form of testing? Sure, it would be fairly audible and quite obvious if someone was at the track but surely it's possible under the radar?

Also, regarding the teams letting Schumacher have a day of testing, the amount of viewers that he will bring back to the sport will easily bring the rest of the teams money in forms of advertising revenue, in a roundabout way - so I'm sure they'll agree to it.
