Hungary Grand Prix 2011, Hungaroring Circuit - Race 11/19

I still think Mosley's idea of each driver driving a different car each race was a good one. There'd certainly be no argument who deserved what then - we'd have the best driver and the best car winning. I know logistically it could never work, but I really liked the principle.

I always thought you were a Hamilton fan tbh.

Ferrari will win this if it's hot. I predict the RB will burn up the tyres too much and get passed by Fernando in the last stint.

If it's cold or wet I expect McLaren to fight RB for the win.

Then again it's hard to see how Vettel wont stick it on pole :/

Quite the opposite, I don't like him. Not as badly as I used to, but I'll still always be a Ferrari fan, and I'm a big admirer of Vettel.

i'd love to see everyone get 10 laps in the championship winning car for a time trial shootout.

Those would be great, it'd be the only real way to know for sure where everyone is at.

Although you would need for everyone to drive different circuits in different conditions to have a real clear picture, where does it end! :p

Mosely proposed that? Daft idea if you ask me. Toad isn't much better either with his green agenda and all.

I'm not so sure it's that much of a bad thing that Hamilton and Alonso keep "taking points off each other". Given that they need to finish ahead of Vettel now anyway, it's better that they both do it, than just one of them. If Vettel is going to finish the race, the further down the field he ends up, the better for the championship. The only real issue is that neither Hamilton or Alonso have been consistently winning, but it's still better that it's one of them and not Vettel.

Ideally you'd want:

Hamilton/Alonso
Alonso/Hamilton
Webber
Button/Massa
Mass/Button
Vettel

For a couple of races. That would tighten things up a bit.

i think the races have been full of excitement but the championship has not.
Imagine if you had last year's championship with this year's races. How good would that be?

Can't believe this is Buttons 200th race! I still remember his debut all those years ago... (Then again half the grid seem's to have been there for the last 10 years)

Hungary should be fun like every year, no one expects anything good, something of interest seems to happen most times we've been here for the last few years anyway...

Yeah, poor old Barrichello is pretty anonymous these days :p

Webber started in 2002, so not quite 10 years for him yet.

Edit: some classic 1993 footage of Rubens in action -

Webber's 10 years next season too?!?! I was loving him score that point for Minardi on his first gp...

Either way pray for rain this weekend to make things more interesting!

He was rather average compared to Alonso's stint in 2001. Among other things, Fernando outqualified JV at Indy and finished ahead of a Prost, a BAR, both Arrows cars and his teammate at Suzuka.

All this in probably the worst Minardi ever produced (bar the 2005 model), with a 3 year old Cosworth engine in the back.
