i just got dead space 2 but i'm so disappointed

Out of interest gareth you said you use an on screen keyboard but do you have to type each letter individually or do you have a predictive mode of some sort? Wondering because some of your posts might take a while one letter at a time ^^

Keep it up by the way, all the best to both you and chuck!

edit: oh and you're damn good at NFS
i use click-n-type program which predictive words as i type

I've not looked at this thread for a couple of days, can someone please update me? There are WAY too many pages to look through!

Perhaps the focus should be about helping everyone with a disability who is prevented from enjoying games / computers and not just remapping keys. Yeah....small step for man etc.

Just to let you know....someone who can only move their eyes will rely on something called "eye gaze" (or similar) at around £11,000 to access a computer. A real ball ache if you don't have a spare £11,000.

A blind person will use software called Jaws at around £800. All that does is read aloud what is on screen. It's free if the person get's a job....but not if they can't.

Remapping a key in one game is easy. You lot need to stop congratulating yourselves and get working to make computers completely accessible.

Hey Gareth, I heard about your story on Edge.com, and I just had to create an account to tell you that you sir are an inspiration as is Chuck, you guys make me proud to be a gamer. You'll be happy to know I singed that petition, and both of you deserve free games for life man. Also Congrats on getting the patch, Dead Space 2 is a great game and I'm glad you won't miss out.

Also, out of curiosity Gareth; I can understand how you play driving games, but how do you play combat-based games such as Dead Space 2? I still don't really get how it works

Hey everyone, just touching base to say thanks for your help in connecting us with Gareth about this, we've been in touch and I'll be sending through some Dead Space goodies to him.

Back on the original topic of controller remapping, I'm surprised nobody has written a some third party software that would allow low-level remapping of input devices for Windows... including mixing/matching keyboard, mouse and joystick inputs. That would solve the problem for all games I'd imagine?
