This has come from Spie:-

I think it's time we used some common sense here.

Amazon sells everything. Therefore Amazon talk should be allowed providing it does not relate to or even hint at buying products OcUK sells.

So buy a CD from Amazon = allowed.
Check out the price of Graphics Cards on Amazon = not allowed.

Let that be the end of it, if your unsure, simply use common sense!

Absolutely fair imo - basically the system we already had. Ace Modder kicked up all of that fuss for nothing

That's pretty much how i interpreted the rule anyway. Seems ok. The only grey area left for me is to do with games such as BF3, about to be released?

Removal of the kindle thread is disappointing. That was a huge thread with lots of excellent info in it (99.99% of which was irrelevant to OcUK) :( I hope it comes back.

Edit: Just seen the above: good news and very sensible.

If its still around it shall be restored. :)

This opens up this scenario again though ;
A new "top" game is about to launch, obviously Amazon et al will have some deals on for it, Valkia, then lists the game at a none realistic price, does that mean we can't then mention X game at Amazon, despite the fact no one will buy from OCUK as it's always cheaper elsewhere

Or, there's a multitude of threads with multiple mentions to X deals for a said game, Valkia then lists that game, are we all in breach of the rules with our previous mentions?

We promote and sell it, buy it from us would be the sensible thing to do. ;)
If with shipping were hugely out on price, no problem, but again no links. But if were talking a couple of quid it seems a bit pointless and kind of insulting, again use common sense!

I am going to buy a book from Amazon!!! Beans from Tescos!!!

Just don't mention about anything we sell though.

So a Logitech Mx518! Well I am going to get that from Overclockers UK of course! :)

(That is basically the rules, I hope everyone is happy with this result).

Basically the rules we already had - can someone give Ace Modder a slap from me?

Pretty sure gibbo said games are fine on other sites even if ocuk stock it, of course the rule is that if the price is similar to other places then please don't mention other sites that selling it at a few quid difference but if their is a huge difference then it is ok to talk about.
