I would edit and warn...unless the continued to break the said rule then I would suspend.:)

I don't ban people for the fun of it that's for sure.

That's exactly what happened two days ago during that whole rant, Ace Modder posted the new rules that were supposed to be a reminder of old rules (that were different but he wouldn't acknowledge it) and then the ****storm with valkia emerged.

At least ThundyCat and Gibbo are being reasonable.

I agree, Gibbo and ThundyCat are trying to help, Ace Modder looks like he's doing it on purpose with him posting right after Gibbo with a contradicting statement. I'd be inclined to ignore what he's said over what Gibbo's said anyway (I'm sure Gibbo's higher up in the OcUK chain of command).
 
So the rules as i understand them now are as follows.

OCUK Competitor Rules:

1. Amazon and places like these etailers/retailers are fine to talk about and link to just please do *NOT* discuss our core business products or link to them such as motherboards, cpus, mice etc.

2. Digital Distribution services are ok to talk and link to.

3. Retailers and Etailers that only do pc hardware are *NOT* to be discussed or linked to.

3. Anyone caught promoting pc hardware on these forums will face warnings and if continued persistence entails then a possible ban will ensue.

As linking to deals of pc hardware is the only thing i can think of as promoting but talking about anything else and yes that means any other pc hardware or other store just dont talk about their products or list prices for things.

That would be the best rule imo. Clear cut and stops promotion of items on competing sites.

It's their fault for not reading the rules, just make sure them rules are clear, well laid out and sticked so that they don't get lost in traffic.

Nice icon next to the sticky, CRUISE CONTROL for readability, fancy colour and bump to the top so that everyone notices. :D

Right this is causing a few internal issues, as such I am going to consult with the oracle, aka Spie and come back with a definite answer by Wednesday this week to clear this up once and for all.

In the meantime this section shall be moderated by the DON's who moderate this section only along the lines of how they have always moderated it. :)

then i dont understand all the fuss.

from what you and gibbo have said things are as they were, dont 'not mention' or imply a company, just dont directly link to any of their products that compete with OCUK.
if its not in direct competition then its ok?

obvs if there are going to be edits/warnings, then aslong as all the mods/dons have their meeting about what can/cant stand then it wont take long before it becomes clearer from the edited posts what is tolerated.

With the warning I would give a link to said sticky regarding the rules.:)

Excellent :) - agreed though, it is causing many issues all round!
 
Gibbo if the rules i stated seem what your after perhaps cut them and sticky them untill wedensday. Unless i suck at suggesting rules that i think ocuk would like to use and seem fair to the community. :D
