I love Final Fantasy XV

Oh was it psp?... I can't remember tbh. I had both when they were about. It was a good game, with pretty amazing production values for a handheld game. I think I might have downloaded the soundtrack too iirc because I liked it so much.

Hajime Tabata wanted to bring a full console release with extend gameplay but for whatever reason they was unable to :( Hence the reason why it wasn't even a digital download and stuck to PSP UMDs only.

Got upto Chapter 7 last night, been taking my time due to doing all the sidequests and hunts I can.

I will say one of the missions in Chapter 6 has no need to be in a FF game and slowed me right down, it's a open world RPG but we better cram a stealth section in.
Thing that really annoys me, is that earlier in the game there is a similar section, but if you get caught it just starts a fight and the game continues. That is fine, as it should be... But the stealth bit in chapter 6 is unfailable, which I have said many times in my opinion the worst kind of game design there is. And to make it worse, the guy escapes anyway so there was absolutely no point making it unfailable in the first place!

Every single time I see unfailable stealth sections in games I hate it. It shows a complete lack of imagination. It is why I can't stand Naughty Dog games.

I've just bought FF XV, 77GB download on steam!!!!! going to take me at least 4 days!!!!!!!!!! Played demo, amazing graphics, runs smooth at all max 1440p! Seems to be better played with a controller than a keyboard/mouse.

If you want the 4k textures that's another 60gb on top of the 77gb.

My internet is going to destroy itself!!! How much does the texture pack affect performance, any way to download it on its own as then I can take my laptop to the coffee shop and use their fast internet. Saying that as it's downloading will it copy it into the common folder so if I paste this into my steam folder on my surface it'll download where it left off?

Couldn't agree more with that

My 980ti will only handle this game on medium settings sadly :(

That kinds makes me happy in a way knowing my GTX1080 is performing as expected :p, but I'd have thought a 980Ti would work on high? What res?

I wasn't expecting smooth play to be honest, everything on, all those Nvidia bells and whilstles, lovely and smooth at 1440P.

If you look at the DLC option in steam for the game, not sure if it shows on the default skin as I use Metro but it's a seperate download in there. Performance has taken a slight hit for me at 3440x1440 but I don't mind as the game looks amazing.

What card you using? I'm hoping to 8GB Vram and 12GB ram will be enough.

Just reading up on the mod kit that is going to be released for this. There should be some great stuff made. Apparently they want a big modding community making stuff like maps, enemies and quests... It could be epic if it catches on.

Atm I just want simple stuff like more hud options and maybe some armour or clothing alternatives tbh.

A bit like workshop for cities? Can download extras? Damn this game could be addictive! Was a good time to get back into PC gaming, gone 32" Monitor, GTX1080, PC back on desk in like 4 weeks what a contrast!

Mods are still pretty thin on the ground, but yeah an HUD /menu system mod would be nice.

I've noticed that nexus mods now have a section for this game, but it only has superficial character /clothing so far.

Looking forward to some mods for this game. Hadn't thought about checking nexus for some.

Some they need are things like picking up items on chocobos, and quicker entering and exiting the car.
Would help speed up the game and make things more enjoyable for me.

Getting around 48-50fps average on my 580 with most things high, gameworks disabled.

Surprisingly smooth with freesync as well as playing with a controller.
