iCue 7000x Build

Slightly off topic but with my old board is there anyway of getting the rgb to work even though the chipset is dead as I was going to mount the old mobo on the wall and thought it would look better lit up.

sorry no idea on that never tried
what happens if you plug it into a psu?
though if its possible youre probably stuck with whatever
the default colour is
which hopefully isnt as ghastly as gigabyte orange

last colour was rainbow waves and had it on a psu before I sent it for repair and nothing. Was hoping there would be a simpleish bypass that would power up only the rgb.

I assure you this build will start one day but not just yet as I’m too busy and still got some parts to order. however this turned up today.
OLED flow meter.
****** molex which is ancient tech. When are they going to stop using that bulky crap and switch to sata

So on trying to sell my unused water cooling parts elsewhere I had a young lad mug me off for the best part of a day pretending he wanted to buy some bits, but it turned out he just wanted info instead of using google like everyone else. I sent him links and gave advice for about 8 hours only for the little melt to then say he wasn’t interested anymore.

Yeah have done that before
Though I don't really use mechanical drives anymore
Since I don't work with huge video editing
Files I don't need drives bigger than 1tb
Yeah that's why you need to go to the life section
Of the forums
And bang out 880 more posts lol
MM isn't perfect but compared to those other
Methods of selling stuff you get way,way less idiots to deal with

i'm 50/50 on the oled sensor.. I have one in one of my rigs and the screen no longer displays any characters anymore.. so it looks as if the sensor is off... thought have heard, this issue is not uncommon

yeah heard that it is a common thing with Aquacomputer screens too.. so doesn't seem to matter which brand you go for, there's a chance they'll all burn out at some point. Shame mine burnt out less than a month after purchasing the component. (didn't wanna go through the hassle of an RMA especially when i bought it cheaper from Aliexpress)

Makes sense if it was an 18w pump
Or something
Not sure the sensor would be a high power item
Maybe it's just more convenient/cheaper
For the manufacturers to use pre-existing tooling
Since most PSUs can still use molex
The other gripe is usually molex comes with coloured
Wires even my ek xres pump/Res combo did
To be fair looks like in that picture they used black wires
So easier to make your build look better
With no red and yellow wires catching the eye

true, otherwise molex connectors are easy to remove and sleeve yourself. Can use that as a practice before trying to sleeve ATX cables which IMO are lot harder to get right
