It's stated the fisherman witnessed them burying his body so I would've though the risks are now minimised, let his rotting corpse feed the worms.
 
Can’t believe they are even considering trying to recover the body. It’s a threat to life for both the police and the islanders.

Leave them be.
 
I remember what I assume was this island after the big tsunami 10 years or whatever ago.

Lots of coconuts (unpeeled) were chucked towards them from a dinghy as a relief effort.

One of the tribe was throwing them to the shore like a scrum half, and one of the coconuts struck a girl member of the tribe on the back of the head. She sprawled, comically, face first into the sea, and the scrum half guy burst into laughter.

It seems appreciation of slapstick humour is inate in humans :D

The deaths of those recovering the body.
This person put himself into an unrecoverable situation. It is laughable to suggest others should face the same fate to pick up his bones.

As I said before ‘if possible’ , nowhere have I suggested anybody should risk their own lives recovering his body

Except for biological danger The only other reason to recover the body is for the family
 
They halted an unwelcome invader. He had no right to be there, and got done in for the protection of everyone.
The people who killed him did the right thing for their tribe.

Yep.... these people have been there for some 60 thousand years..... they have no idea what any of these concepts are. It's difficult to imagine yourself living their life... no idea about anything, completely shut off from the world. I was lying in bed thinking about it last night.

I'd love if we could just be fly on wall..... not disturb them at all but just be able to find out about their culture, justice system, religion? etc

Would be super interesting....

Anyone making the argument for +1 natural selection in favour of the islanders is way off. Ultimately, if it was a family member/loved one of mine who'd been murdered and had their body dragged around while these nutters host an orgy of celebration over their death, I'd be tempted to use modern technology and know how (extra-legal or not) to get myself onshore with a heavy assault rifle. Afterall, rule of law doesn't apply and natural selection is +1.

Its mostly because he's American I suspect. They didn't bother with trying to recover the fishermen who unfortunately got stranded there in 2006 and killed by the tribe. They apparently ended up with their bodies propped up on sticks on the beach to act like scarecrows to ward off any future visitors.

There are some groups that have only been seen from helicopter/aircraft so quite possibly. It’s nice to see there are still some parts of the world that are still relatively “wild”.

Unfortunately those areas are being encroached on day after day and as we see time and time again encroachment of our society on those tribes usually leads to a significant reduction in living standards for them (at least in the short term - drugs, money and alcohol usually get there first).
