If you could recommend only one PC game in history which would it be?

Wow, that's a really tough question.

I couldn't come up with just one game.

Deus Ex
BF2 with expansions
BF Vietnam
Rust
Half life 2

I said bf1942

But the hours I put in online in BFv with my dad was insane. Conquest and our goal was to be sneaky and keep taking flags for the team. I miss them days with my dad. Must be 12/13 years ago!

Half-life

I didn't even play games until I installed that for my brother. Is it working? I think so, you're on a train... I'm still on that train.

Was going to come in and post something from bullfrog. Then saw the UT99 post. Would probably have to go with that or WoW.

Online: BF2 - Like other's sunk 100's of hours into that game. Totally dominated the sky's with my sidewinder 2 :D (Elder Scroll's Online is a fairly fun due to lore and amount of content, so a close second)
Offline: Witcher 3 (Skyrim close second)

1 game is hard man, but EVE is what i would say if i could only recommend 1. Its the only game with any real legs on it (we will see what Star Citizen can do).

Difficult question...

In terms of absolute "best", I'd probably have to go with The Witcher 3...

In terms of "game I really got 'into'" it would have to be UO - I think that was what got me seriously into games, just with the level of depth that had gone into it. Possibly due to it being my first proper foray into multiplayer, but the living, breathing, constantly changing persistent world shared with thousands of other people, and the fact you could just go off and do your own thing, carve out a living and make a reputation for yourself on the shard, whilst making friends, colleagues and enemies with people across the world (something we completely take for granted these days) really sucked me in!
