I'm getting fat :(

Get off you computer you lazy bum

Join your local gym, money you spend on that is incentive to go(hopefully) and take up spinning(3 times a week I reckon). Very intense and rewarding

Providing you have a bit of will power, losing weight is a doddle and fun.

Went from waste size 36 to a rather too skinny 28 (Whilst being 5'10 ish). Now I'm 6'2 and 34, currently on the way to a 32 again (Its cutting time).

Simply don't eat crap, and exercise (cardio) for an hour everyday. Do that for a year. Hey presto, weight has shifted. Will not make you look toned mind. Use the GordyR thread for that.

Cardio = Cardiovascular exercise. Basically, something which will make your heart pump hard and your lungs breathe fast and deep.

Exercises included cycling, swimming, and the most obvious, running.

I would recommend swimming since that will really help tone your body.

woop woop i gota bike and i won;t have to get all embarased like i would if i went out huffing and puffing while running on the streets

should i try to maintain a certain speed or aim to ride for a certain time or certain distance?

Aim for an hour twice a week for the first few weeks. Build up real gently from there and do not try to go fast. Just enough to get your heart rate up a small amount from resting. Thats the best fat burning zone.

Not a clue. I haven't cycled in years.

You need to get your heart rate up basically. There are target heart rates you need to get to with any exerise... one for fat burning, one for cv.

EDIT - see above post

You might try pilates yoga. I have a friend who has had a problem with his muscles in the belly area (dunno which) since an accident a few years ago. He is only 25 and a rake but for his belly which looks like a beer belly. He does that yoga, and lots of sit-ups, and it's gradually getting smaller.

Ahh cheers,I might give that a go,if nothing else it adds a bit of variety into my exercise routine :)

as a very basic, its about calories in v calories out.

you must be in > out atm, change this to in < out, either by doing more active things or by taking in less calories.

Ride for fun! I live in quite a good area for riding - here's a map of what I ride nowdays every ~3 weeks (which isn't nearly often enough!);
http://www.imgplace.com/directory/dir1254/1188862292.jpg

It takes about 2 hours. If you can find someone to ride with you it'll make it much better, but I think going out for a good 2 hour ride and stopping in the middle for lunch is great. It's lovely across countryside, especially when you get to the top of hills. And you obviously get tough bits where you get to the top and think "woah, I made it!" which is an awesome sense of achievement :)

Also - get a camelback back-pack! You put water in them and drink from something that has an eye like that of a trouser snake :p But it saves faffing about with water bottles, and if you were gonna take lunch you'd need a bag anyway.

Really I didn't/don't ride to exercise, it's a fun thing to do and exercise is just a big plus-side to it! But if I get a new bike I'll probably be riding more specifically for the sake of exercise.

edit; also an ordnance survey map will help with planning decent bike rides

I are a large frame with a 50" chest so it doesnt look so bad....Stocky for the win :D

It's not rocket science - Eat healthy and more often in smaller portions and get off your fat beer swilling arse and do some exercise.

OH AND STOP WINGEING

6ft 2' and 89Kgs - That's not fat. That's just moderately plump ;)

I'm 6ft and weigh 99Kgs - My belly is getting large and I really don't like it - I NEED A DIET :(
