IMPORTANT news about watching F1 on sky this season

Never said it did but common sense would say the majority would be F1 fans watching every race or recording it, but I think you would know that ;)

Yay! First Mr Men nitpicking contest of the year. The joys!

No offense, but you and common sense don't always get along very well. It's best to state things in short sentences that you can't possibly confuse.

But your link shows it is a small pie for sky in the UK?

Well if you tell any team in football that 5mil people will be watching theire game they would love you.

5 million on average per race does not mean 90 million different people are watching F1 in the UK?

Who said it did? And MagigBoy is not doing anything wrong. Last season you asked things you got an anwser but then tried to rip it apart.

Again back on topic.

I didn't make the thread so you guys could bitch at each other about how viewing fgures have dropped since the move to Sky. Anyone who didn't expect that to happen was delusional.

The BBC approached Sky who rightfully snapped it up. Any ire or anger should be directed at them.

As far as Sponsors are concerned they couldn't give two monkeys flying out of anyone's rear end about viewing figures dropping in the UK. The UK is a mature market where the number of consumers is finite and tends to swap between brands rather than being brand new customers as are likely in Asia and China.

I've been waiting for Sky to unbundle our exchange before getting the TV along with the phone and internet (compared to what I'm paying now, it would only be a few quid a month more for Sky TV). This has scuppered that plan :(

Why not get the TV and phone now, then tag the BB on later when they LLU it?

Although personally, I wouldn't bother, the terrible connection and horrendous customer services I'm getting with their BB is making me want to leave anyway. I'd be better off with a BT reseller.

What's up Skeeter? Trust me your issue and I will see what I can do.

No guarantee they will LLU it any time soon I suppose, plus the only real reason I want it is for the F1; can't really justify the expense, especially having a 2-year-old and a 4-month-old meaning I pretty much don't watch any live F1 at the moment anyway.
Was just hoping that the F1 HD on a standard subscription might have still been around when it became worthwhile again. Ah well.

I haven't watched a race on the BBC since Sky got it.

Same here - Brundle & crofty good comms team. Would prefer Coulthard & brundle together but nevermind.
There's much more analysis with the skypad - anthony davidson, mcnish etc.
And I certainly wont be entertaining Suzy Perry!!! this year on the beeb.
The only presenter more annoying is Claudia Winkelman.
Jake is a better host than Lazenby but now he's gone.

How does this work for someone that is currently on the sky world 1/2 price offer from last year?

I was looking to downgrade to Entertainment extra I.e. no movies or sports packs. Would I get F1 HD?

really can't see myself watching any bbc this year. the only reason i tuned in last year was for the pre-race chemistry/banter between EJ/JH and DC, of which there obviously won't be any this year :(
