*** Infestation: Survivor Stories ***

I think people need to chill, they acting like we playing the release version. The Map is only 30% the game code is alpha. This is more a server testing than testing the game.
People crying over crashing what did you expect?

But it should be in a playable state at least. otherwise, what is the point of people paying for early access? Why would you pay extra simply to stress test the servers for them?

On the other hand people act like I've just signed for a mortgage, it was £15 and I will get my money out of it.

Pay for the alpha is here to stay now as it makes money.

It's alpha and it really is expected, I had two crashes this morning. Some people getting crashes, some don't. This isn't a unified platform like console hardware and we all have different set ups.

Good reason why they shouldn't of sold the Alpha. For real feedback, but there again this to me is just server testing and seeing how well they stand up. Having a closed Alpha wouldn't bring much stress on the server.

See what am getting at, Have you ever played or been part of a real Alpha like this? When buying the game and I seen Alpha I already knew what to expect and it is server testing and no more. Give couple days and has they said they will slowly start rolling out patches and fixes till game hits it beta stage.

yes i have mate, but its still should run so we can test, id be ok with a few crashes here and there but every minute is just wrong...

Well, I've just played for about 40 minutes, a few crashes and flickering shadows and it runs terribly, however the essence of a good game is there.

I made it into a city, found a couple of shotguns and a pistol, took out a few Zs that came towards me, about 7 - indoors, tried to help another player who was getting chased but i couldn't switch weapons fast enough and got taken down.

It's flakey as hell, but there is a game underneath it. :)

You really need to expect alpha to be like this, far far worse than a beta.

You also need to consider it a pre-order for the finished game, with alpha/beta access as a bonus.

So they've got 2 weeks to get their act together for the beta, which by all accounts is going to be a fair task.

I'm glad I didn't spend any money on this, partly because of the reports coming in (yes, I know it's an alpha) about atmosphere and stability but mostly because I'm getting bored of software companies crowd sourcing their alpha/beta testing. Especially when they expect to charge the prices they are for their final releases.

Yes I know it's an alpha, but you'd think you'd get the fundamentals right enough so your crowd sourced test base can even access the thing they're testing. Even if they're not testing it, what's the point in releasing duff software that people will form opinions of.

This whole thing smacks of a massive cash in on Day Z's success, which people are lapping up. I hope I'm wrong, but I fear the 30th will also see problems unless Hammerpoint get their collective **** together.

My 2p.

It actually runs really well on my home PC, no problems running it smoothly (graphically) on ultra, i7 6950 blah blah. The zombie flickering all over and spazzing out seems to be the main visual problem for me.
