gwan, do ett.

Only got £6k :p

That is lovely though :)

only 2 owners since import, think this last chap has only had it a year. one of the nicest examples out there tbh. a very rare car indeed.

can't fault much then! think its time to sort a viewing!

He's got quite a few people interested apparently and someone coming down from Liverpool to view on Saturday who thinks will buy it as they seem keen (although not willing to leave a deposit). (I know typical sales talk to try and get me to commit although I do believe he has got other interest as he seems a genuine guy and they seem quite rare in good condition with this mileage and history <£5k)

My RS I've taken a deposit and put through a new MOT today and it's being collected 10am friday, I'm tempted to head straight down then (4hrs total by train). Bit reluctant to put a deposit (he will accept £250 non refundable) but dont want to miss the car either, decisions :\

has he not offered first refusal to this chap from liverpool then?

just take someone knowledgable if your unsure with you, view it asap and give it a good going over. if its anything like described then you should be OK.

The guy from liverpool isn't willing to put a deposit down and he's not holding it for anyone without one (understandably).

I dont think I can get anyone up with me at short notice but I've bought a few cars myself anyway and thanks to everyone in this thread (and reading up on them the last few years) I think I know what to look for in general. Just remembered I'm sure someone off these forums bought a DC2 off another forum members years ago and it blew up on the way home? Seen it down Powerstation then having a rebuild whilst my scooby was being serviced. (Drexel and Simon spring to mind but I could be completely wrong :P)

think that was Drexel aye.

chances of that happening are very unlikely to be fair, this looks to be an unabused example :)

ahhhh that's right I remember now :)

Not saying I'm worried about this one because I know how good the engines are, just made me think how long I've been looking at them for, must be around 4 years back now.

Is it not very rare because in yellow it mings to **** and nobody else was stupid enough to order it in that colour from the factory? ;)

Love it personally, wouldn't pay that for it though even if I had the budget for it.

your on your own there chap i believe :p

PY DC2s om nom

seats look gay though. they'd need to be swapped fo' sure.

think theres like 5/6 in this country iirc, if that.

Well my RS sold this morning so I'm heading up on the train in an hour, wish me luck :)

Not over rated at all. They are still exceptional cars when in the right nick and are a true enthusiasts car. Teey can also be very reliable!

They don't look dated and still turn plenty of heads, that is just plain wrong.

I totally respect your opinion and understand why you like them, 5/6 years ago I did too and I understand why people would like to own one but personally and in my opinion I think they are overpriced, dated and over hyped

It was turbo'd?

Yes it was me, the cambelt snapped on the way home after picking it up. It happens, just one of those things. Simon (jedifragger) was kind enough to stump up for some of the repair costs even though he was under no obligation to do so, so I was thankful for that.

It wasn't turbo'd at the time, I did that a bit later on.

Thanks for the reply :)

I've had another email back -

The car has a full proper Honda Service History. They check the car at every service and produce a report of the parts that need replacing, which have always been replaced without fail. So, many of the bushes have been replaced, but I couldnt tell you exactly which ones.

Each one was done as it was needed, I'm not aware that any need replacement yet, but if you have your car serviced at Honda they tend to find fault with bushes pretty early on, as they have an obvious financial interest in replacing them.

Not heard of Honda doing this from anyone to be frank. RTA bushes are the most important and normally go first, but I very much doubt Honda replaced any others as they probably looked 'fine'.

He also mentioned that he 'isn't aware' of any needing replacement. Well 12+ yr old rubber that has seen that time period and 60k+ miles of fatigue WILL be ready for an overhaul :)

Yes there is definitely no rust on the underneath. The car has been checked properly and undersealed properly and there is no rust on the chassis either inside or outside. Your right to make sure this has happenned though as it is such a common problem on Integra's and its the reason in my view that my car is a cut above the rest.

Mine doesn't really have any rust on the chassis either as Honda applied a thick (~3mm) layer of solid underseal from the factory so the car should be fine. The rear arch condition NEEDS to be assessed by removing the rear quarter panel plastics on the insdie and you need to look down to the internal area of the arch. There will be rust there, you just need to see how much. See the thread below detailing the crap design that will have let water in:

I have had more interest in the car now so if you want to reserve it, you will need to get the cash to me pretty soon.

Friday or Saturday should be fine with me, we can discuss suitable times later.

He might have had more interest but you need to buy with your head and not with your heart. I did the later and it cost me!

And I suppose you have driven or owned one for an appropriate time period or are these 'opinions' similar to those of Joshy who has never driven one? ;) I could harp on how I don't 'get' the Mazda MX-5 and all the praise, but I haven't been in one let alone driven one, so I keep my thoughts to myself instead of coming out and being made to look a silly boy.

They are as good as they are made out to be, you just need to get a good one or overhaul the suspension of an older one. Mine is tight as a virgin on the twisties!
