Intel Core Ultra 9 285k 'Arrow Lake' Discussion/News ("15th gen") on LGA-1851

Very impressive and they have most design wins for upcoming handhelds.

Agreed, and i'm of the opinion that it serves AMD right, this thing has integrated LPGDDR memory and a larger GPU vs the CPU, AMD could have done this years ago but chose not to, playing it safe, and this is what you get for it.

The Z2 Extreme has some work to do, AMD should operate under the assumption that that Intel could bunce back big at any moment so they need to continuously push themselves, they haven't done that, sucks to be you, get a grip on it.

That Apex is looking nice :D
Isn't that 7th non public and then the 10th public part unusual?
Or maybe just something we don't generally notice?

I mean most announcements tend to get the coverage of "here are the slides" with not much more. Does a 3 day gap imply that tech journalists will actually write content rather than just showing slides?

Handhelds? Well, while Intel were seldom interested in semi-custom, so if LNL can cover this market in the default config then that is a loss for AMD.
While PS5 and Xbox consoles SOCs are fully custom, the handhelds seem to be far more generic; it's like neither AMD nor the vendors took the handhelds very serious so LNL eating into that market may get AMD to re-consider that.

It would be the latter, as they will often show a slide deck/marketing pre-public announcement. The same thing has happened with Luna Lake and also on the AMD side as well.

What a fail.

Arrow Lake seems a misstep so far to me.

EDIT: Though the focus with Arrow Lake wasn't all out performance from the start it has always been about working in new processing features for compute, AI, etc. though I've considered that is still a misstep.

Credit to Intel for doing honest marketing - admitting 14900K is faster in games is pretty wild! Unlike AMD's antics with Ryzen 9000 performance...

80W less for similar performance is a step in the right direction - but not good enough to get excited about, certainly not a generational increase or worth upgrading to compared to Zen 5X3D.

Zen5 X3D is the only logical choice for gamers, I've said previously I think it'll be the performance champion for at least 2 years.
