Intel has a Pretty Big Problem..

Is anyone running the latest microcode fixed BIOS versions and experiencing audio drop out when using audio interfaces?
I use a scarlett 2I2 for my guitar and since updating to 0x12B I've gotten some serious latency issues with consistant drop-out with backing tracks and guitar output being completely unusable.
I've been using my I7-10750H laptop for now but I'm not sure what else I can do.
I have noticed that my 13900K won't boost at all above 5.5ghz and never all core. as soon as all-core starts it drops below 5ghz. temps are ok at no more than 80 peak.
Any suggestions? is something odd going on with the clock speeds to be effecting real time (or as near to) audio?
Latencymon shows nothing untoward in windows .

Have you tried resetting BIOS and re-entering settings manually?

Is the audio interface PCI-e or USB?

I would still buy one.
Almost the same FPS for significantly less electricity is a thing.
I actually notice my electricity bill changes when I am playing games a lot, so it would be a plus for me.

I'd call this Intel's Bulldozer days pricing!
Just an update on some deals on OCUK:

12th Gen:
i5
i7
i9

£125 (incl. VAT)
£99 (incl. VAT)
FREE DELIVERY

Yeah if intel was competing with itself, which it isn't and we already have faster gaming CPU that's more efficient and another to arrive, you need to buy another motherboard either way

He feels it, right down to his AMD Bone(r).

Interesting thing is looking at shop data, AMD has a marginally higher return rate on 7000 series* than Intel 13th and 14th gen up until the last month or so, where I suspect a lot of people are returning the CPUs either out of an abundance of caution swapping to an AMD setup due to the news about the Intel issues or under the notion that newer ones are less likely to be problematic than older ones rather than the bulk of that being faulty CPUs.

* I suspect some of this is due to the faulty SoC voltage issue from just over a year ago.

AMD retail sales are 4-5 times that of Intels.

In germany maybe from one website, AMDs market share is still tiny

mmm.
Had a bit of a look at the actual physical differences of the chips
AMD is chiplets with IO die and CCD with some interesting interconnects.
Intel's is a more stacked design. still monolithic all silicon. with the silicon "interposer" sandwiched within the layered chip.

Intel's sandwiched interposer has some latency advantages. and im guessing possibly the thermal disadvantage?
as it happens, for whatever reasons i dont know exactly. it is still less power efficient than amd's architecture.
Also, in terms of 'games' some will perform better and some worse than the AMD darlings of extra cache.
AMD's arch. is certainly effective.

still at least the end of this month or later that I will be able to actually buy the Intel thing in a retail box. then there is the ddr5 and a board.. le sigh.
I'm in no hurry. gaming is mostly about the graphics card. all this fuss over cpu's. gigantic waste of time in my opinion.

In certain segments of the DIY market AMD 7000 series have outsold their Intel contemporaries but yeah overall Intel massively outsell AMD in the retail desktop space.

Unfortunately the retailers like Mindfactory and Puget that publish stats have heavily skewed stats due to what they offer and their markets so you can't go on them alone.
