Intel Haswell Refresh Processors Codenamed Devil’s Canyon – Launching in Mid 2014 With Unlocked Desi

yh,so update to latest bios (it should say support for devils canyon) first before you sell your old cpu

Okay cheer's I wondered as it says bio's 1.0 in the link and I figured that was the first. But at the end of the day I haven't got a clue so I'll do it like you said, Thanks.

tbh we know how its going to be in reality

4.4-4.6 .

if they did that oc or 5ghz with ease wed know that now ! it would be everywhere.

Think i'll be waiting to see what results people get with them first.

My 4770k isn't the best but it will do until proper overclocks start coming out. I'll also hold off deliding it too

I presume that z87 has been confirmed as supporting the 4790k judging by a few posts in this thread? (providing the mobo has a bios for it)

Have to say if 5GHz is possible on a non LN2 setup i'm a tad excited.

u should delid it,
Tbh wazza, i think i should bin it.:D Had it at stock a few days ago, even then it gets into the 70's when gaming. This is with stock fan setting via asus fan xpert, temps will drop to 70 ono with the fans at full speed, (x2 2350rpm corsair PWM sp's) which are quite loud. I figure if it's gonna hit more or less the same temps at stock as it does oc'd, i may as well run it oc'd and enjoy the speed benefit.

If a 4790k can hit 4,5-4,6ghz on air using something like a Cooler master 212 evo without going into the 85+ degrees on average samples i might actually buy one as my current 4770k is not even stress test stable at 4,5 yet still hits the 90+ degrees celcius. Im sure there are worse samples out there (sadly) but i miss the days of 40-50% OCs on air.
