***Intel i7 4790K Owners thread***

The moral of the story is your sending back perfectly working goods lol
i didn't think i would have to explain that one to ya. people usually do that when there goods are faulty or doa.

Yeah I know but when I worked at volkswagen I pdi a brand new £25000 passat cc and customer wonted all the extras on it.

Then a week later after the customer done 4000 miles on it and had it a week return it saying he didnt like it and wonts to return it because the drive of it was bumpy due to sports suspension and they accepted it back and give him another car brand new then they had to sell that car as second hand for 18000 so the company lost 6000 but as a retailer we had to follow the law.

I don't get why people get particularly bothered over people sending stuff back. Its a right as a consumer to be able to do so (at least for now).

The only exception would be when people take the ****, just to "test" something or the likes. Which will inevitably result in us loosing that right, or it being reduced in some capacity.

I totally agree.

Anyone used C-Temp before? Demonstrates the pure tourture of the latest prime quite well. Two cores throttle with 25C ambient.

At 4.6 for now just by increasing offset vcore. Need to figure out the other voltages.

haha you found that aswell then Darkman. There seems to be a wide range of stable and stable for some stuff really isn't for anything slightly more demanding.

4.6 seems the sweet spot for this chip, needs v1.193 which is lower than others are reporting.

4.7 is a no go due to temps.. it's hitting tjmax. DC is meant to have better packaging aswell, crickey I'm glad I never had a 4770K. Would love to delid but not untill I can afford to replace it should the worst happen.

4.8 well that was a dream lol, got really exited for a minuite thought I had an above average chip, then HB brings me crashing down to reality.

To be fair I've only been adjusting vcore, just reading a guide on OCN and it seems there are a few more voltage settings that help. Need to read up on my board though and figure out what voltages corespond to what setting. Not comfortable just increasing them especially not knowing the safe limits.

Much to learn but enjoying it, just wish the temps weren't so mental despite barely warm air coming out the back of the case.

You just said it your self you GET a chip, you TEST it find it not upto standards and send it back?
