Intel to launch 6 core Coffee Lake-S CPUs & Z370 chipset 5 October 2017

I see what you mean, I stop going higher when temps and volts needed start to rapidly accelerate.

Right.
The problem is at no point did he say it was a problem with overclocking, what he said was "its normal for Ryzen to Boot Loop" its a way to misleads people into thinking its a problem with the chip, not what is in fact a problem with what he is doing to it.

It explains everything about him and his agenda.

Watch this that andrei posted. https://youtu.be/vZgpHTaQ10k?t=870

You are making assumptions on a platform you know nothing about.
Yes, my cold boot issue could be fixed by using <3200 ram, but why should I when 3466 is stable?
The IPC is bad enough let alone running it any lower lol.

Please, stop posting fud. You know nothing about the ryzen platform.
So what will you do when you push the Intel chip too far?

Yes, it's quite normal if you're trying to hit 3200Mhz on RAM with Ryzen. Why is everyone who hasn't even owned a Ryzen talking as if they know what they're talking about?
I even literally linked Robert Hallock talking about it in a video about how to overclock your RAM past 2666Mhz on Ryzen, jesus.

I guess ASUS are overclocking wrong, too.

DRAM cold boot workaround BIOS

Has been tested ok by several parties. Note that this is still quite experimental, but we figured out a way to recover if things go wrong (highly unlikely though). It's based on 0081.

C6H BIOS 0003

Couple of things you should know before flashing it:

- Clear CMOS before flashing. If you get stuck at a POST code after the "BIOS is updating" message + reset, clear CMOS again.
- Your EC will be updated with this version, meaning you will get the "BIOS is updating" message. Don't freak out, it will complete this time
smile.gif

- This BIOS always boots with 90 MHz refclk and 1.35V DRAM, then resets by itself with the actual BIOS settings and voltages.
- Your chipset or VGA may not like running at 90 MHz in which case your system will be unable to POST even when using Safe Boot or with CMOS cleared (54/55/d6 error codes). The fix is to enable LN2 mode and press safe boot button which will set your refclk to 105 MHz. It's advised to test 90 MHz refclk on your system before flashing this BIOS to make sure you don't run into any issues.
- After reverting back to a previous BIOS your EC version will stay the same, meaning you will still boot at 90 MHz refclk. Send me a PM if this causes issues for you and I'll send a fix.

So, AMD and ASUS acknowledge there is a cold boot dram problem, yet if anyone speaks about it then its our fault for pushing too far?
3.8 is certainly not too far lol.

Mate we read various posts you don't need to own something to have an understanding of it. You have first hand experience of the platform but you no doubt read posts from those that knew more than you,in order to help you achieve an overclock or help correct issues.

Your another one who brought the wrong cpu and now has regrets where as others wait until they are sure it's right for them.

It's your money and all that.

There is no bootloop problem, me, hundreds of other people, ASUS and AMD are all bringing it on ourselves.
So, as long as we run <3200mhz ram and dont let the room get below 20c all is fine. I'll get me a x299 and leave that on idle to warm the room then for when I want to boot ryzen up :)

Lol. Just sell up and get coffee lake mate and be done with it.

You brought the wrong cpu for you simple as that. Hopefully they iron out these issues with Zen 2

Well, technically it is because AMD only rates Ryzen for 2666Mhz Single Rank, anything above isn't guaranteed :D

But 3200mhz is required to get the most from my CPU :)
This thread has become a joke, people that dont even own the damn thing are telling me I have setup problems lol.

Keep my room warm and it boots fine :)

AMD fanboys without AMD hardware.......
