Intel to launch 6 core Coffee Lake-S CPUs & Z370 chipset 5 October 2017

So, asus and amd recognise the cold boot bug but you chose to ignore it because it doesn't fit in with your ryzen is perfect attitude?

I saw that, what i saw was Asus admitting to problems with their Motherboards, top tip, don't buy Asus Motherboards, at least not until they fix their stuff.

Come on... bashfullgavin,

Ryzen is on average 10% slower than a £350 7700K in games, this is the £180 Ryzen 1600. thats impressive, very impressive. even more impressive is that it smashes the 7700K in MT tasks.

what did you exact when you bought the 1700? did you expect it to beat the £500 i7 6850? oh wait it does that... what did you expect? Really because what you have there is an incredible powerfull fast CPU full stop, even more incredible is its low price, what did you expect of it?

But you brought it on release day knowing it likely wouldn't compete with the fastest Intel chips but it could be improved. It has been improved just not enough to be on par with the 7700k at all times in games.

You brought the wrong cpu mate and have now become bitter about it.

Ryzen is far from perfect, we know that without having to buy one. We also know that many are happy with what they got. Perhaps they don't need the highest absolute performance in games or something.

I'm more bitter about the people with fingers in their ears tbh.
This thread has become a ryzen dickfest from people that dont even own the damn thing, nor know anything about it aside from a few gaming benchmarks.
I'll return when it gets back on topic.

Yes he brought it to his house, but is not leaving since he will be re-using it in another system, his daughters if I recall. Money isn't everything to everyone all of the time, even though I am a VFM guy, sometimes you have to experiment.

It's weird to point at a CPU for cold boot issues. Surely it would be the board?

Yes, It is the Board, Asus said it was their Board.

Kudos for owning up to it but, yeah, avoid Asus until they fix it.

I hear ASRock Boards are very good.

It is on topic. You're explaing the pros of CoffeeMaker like you own one...

I've also learnt not to buy an Asus wirh a new chipset for at least six months. Might run into a few bugs, oh wait...

Correct, funny isn't it. I tell people Im getting an intel cpu and I'm a fanboy.
Hope, they dont see my other rigs, they'll think I'm an AMD fanboy :)

Think it's more indicative of the platform.

Go on MSI, gigabyte, asrock and all have the same posts.
8pack even held off the 3200mhz profile becuase of cold boot issues but hey, first he blames my cpu now he blames the board.
And he can tell me this from his screen without owning either, I'm impressed.

I'm out, I'll return when some coffeelake news surfaces.

You seem confused.

The only one in this thread who has called anyone a fanboy is you, you and your mate, you called me an AMD fanboy for making an illustration as to why and how 4 Cores are not enough, in an Intel 6 core thread using my own £200 Intel CPU and a £450 nVidia GPU rig, for that you called me an AMD fanboy.

Not a fanboy you've just made a rapid transition from one side to the other.

Anyway I'm not being personal, you are welcome to do what ever with your money.

I'm running the x399 taichi in my main rig and haven't had any cold boot issues. I can even manage 3200 ram which I know is no consolation to the guys having issues on certain boards. It's early days for Ryzen but what it gives for the money is very good. I've had hardware combos before that just didn't work and feel your pain, funny enough that was an asus board back in the day.. a7v333 which was a great board until you tried to put the Radeon 9700pro in it.

Asus are just not good boards, at least not anything below the ROG series, poor quality and high prices seems to pay for the ROG series.
