Intel to launch 6 core Coffee Lake-S CPUs & Z370 chipset 5 October 2017

The problem is 99% of the population can't tell. Ive meet so many people that make claims like yours but past about 85hz they can't tell the difference. Most people are fine with 60Hz screens with a reasonable latency.
Not sure about pure FPS but I can easily notice when FreeSync isn't working for whatever reason (usually driver related).

Anyone know when Intel plan to announce UK prices?

Intel don't have GBP pricing, they work solely in USD for official pricing worldwide. So the prices dictated by e-tailers/retailers are based on the price they paid from the disti, or if it was from a non-UK source the dollar rate at the time of purchase/invoice.

Intel will have retail prices for each market.

Hard to disagree with that, i thought there was something wrong with my system after playing L4D2 and then going to play KF2 because it felt a bit laggy on some maps, until i realised some custom maps are just badly optimised and bog down the fps. Dipping to the 60 range or even 80 doesn't feel right. Has to be 100+ or so, it's also easy to notice the difference if you compare differences in a short time.

How can it be a placebo when measurable frame time from 60fps to 120fps is 16ms to 8ms? The problem is when you are used to it, you will feel it when it's lower.

Oddly when playing on another system though a locked 60 is quite smooth, i think it's a PC thing.. You game on it and you come to expect those very high frame rates :p that's what PC gaming does to you i guess.

Sub 60 even with gsync/freesync is fairly awful once you're used to either tech and 60-120fps.

With the refresh rate locked to frame rate sub 60fps will still look like sub 60Hz. At that point you might want to uncouple the monitor and render engine depending on the game. For me after 80-90hz/FPS I can't tell even if the game can keep up.

YOU not being able to tell if a game engine can keep up is a far cry from your statement earlier lol. Your comments are a joke. I'm pretty sure you're just trolling.

Anyhow, I'm still undecided on a board, the clear CMOS button on the io and a debug LCD are a must though.

Agree, but I don’t see any oneboard that stands out. The gigabyte boards look best, but not liking the Aorus branding. Want Asus, but don’t see any Asus boards that stand out either? Mmmm still undecided myself ?

Apex? or wait for Asrock OC Formula
me personally looking for ITX boards :)

This whole all cores at 4.7ghz that some boards do at stock voltage/no overclocking etc - is that guaranteed? Because if it is I might be tempted to swap my 4.3ghz 5820k for one as it would be a decent 20% increase.
