Intel to launch 6 core Coffee Lake-S CPUs & Z370 chipset 5 October 2017

the Z370I Strix is pretty solid 2 dimm board atm. When the Apex released I will make a comparison regarding max mem, max clock, and cas tweaking.
In the mean time, enjoy 4040Mhz 14 14 14 28 and 5.2Ghz 1.424v non delided + XMP 4133Mhz.

Also with 4133Mhz xmp volt at 1.35v I managed to lower the cas to 17 18 18 28

Pretty impressive! I do feel mini-ITX has now come of age.

Ok then I will wait or if I get impatient just go for the 8600k.

I will probably just wait though.

You might as well and there might be even some deals before the end of the year too.

the era of 2 dimm board and board efficiency! I believe gigabyte started it with Z97 SOC Force LN2 back in the DDR3 era. Then to DDR4, asus impact was the king making asrock release the monster Z170M OCF, then Asus with the Apex line up. Seems kinda sad as gigabyte doesn't follow the trend as much and only have the z270n gaming 5 as the only decent board for mem oc. MSI is meh :D

I have the Asus Z370I also. Is a brilliant board that makes some of it's bigger siblings looking poor value (or the CH6).
And is a very capable board when comes to overclocking. My 8600K works flawlessly at 5.2Ghz with 4Ghz Ring. Or 5.1Ghz with 4.5Ghz ring (fine tuning it tonight bet can go higher).

Nice one cheers.

Mate, I was playing the last two hours TW Warhammer 2. No issue what so ever. At the start video goes to 4.7Ghz or after battle result waiting from me to click OK and the CPU usage drops down to the floor.
Otherwise both 5.1Ghz and 5.2Ghz Overclocks work flat out all the time.

My only concern atm is that the motherboard decided to make my 3600Mhz ram running at 15/15/15/36 instead 16/16/16/36. Not that I complain :p

Edit. Just in WOT atm. No issue what so ever. The game is stuck at max speed on all 6 cores.

Ah, must just be the ones I tested. BF1 and forza.
In cinbench the clocks hold fine, I'll do more testing over the weekend.
