Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

Yeah your aggressive posts prove that you don't er... 'care' about others opinions. Honest.

Why would I possibly care what someone on an internet forum says.
Far too many people arguing on here these days like it really means anything.
Quite how people can get so wound up and threaten to "come round and sort you out in RL" makes me laugh my **** off. (not that I've ever had that mind you)

To me it's a bit of banter to pass the time and also get the chance to put my opinion on things across. If no one likes that opinion.. so what. Life doesn't revolve around the internet.
Most of the time I try and give a balanced, sensible answer to questions posed, occasionally you get a dumb post and that's when.. how can I put it "don't suffer fools gladly"

and IIRC you have retaliated to my posts previously in an aggressive manner.. have I jumped down your throat about it? Do I really care. :D nope. :p:D

worth a shot. Most chicks only have 3-4 lines and a couple of pics. you only need to do the same, then just sit back and relax and wait for people to message you. Ive had mine on for week with 4-5 lines and had quite a few messages.

Works for some but didn't work for me.

I deleted my profile from plentyoffail last week.. I said I was going to be on there for a year but after five months that site left me more frustrated than all the other sites (pay/free) put together!

Some stats:

Messaged 70 people (a mix of ethnicities) with thought into most of the messages. Received only a handful of replies, I replied to the messages but had no reply afterwards.

Only ONE person messaged me, and that was from a girl with a similar background to myself..

The views (from five months):

What's left?

Yahoo Personals HK (Chinese language): I've paid a sub (£20 for three months! ) and now talking to one or two people based abroad in East Asia.

Loopylove: Took out a sub as Quidco was doing 100% cashback (a while ago). Never ever pay for that site as it doesn't have the traffic IMO.. seems like the only people logging in are in the 40+ age bracket.

Someone please ban this guy.

Sorry to hear it didn't work out for you. PoF is a bit hit and miss, but then you get the occasional gems - saw a girl who's almost perfect (as much as you can be from a profile) earlier today and she's replied already. Also lives in same area as me so hopefully a meet won't be too far off.

RE: What's left, have you tried OkCupid?

Are you sure that's right? I've only been on PoF for 7 days (lost my old account and created a new one) and I've had more views already ? How actually active were you?

Russinating, you uber good looking by any chance? :D

I wish!

My message 'stats' are the same as fossils, ie I send loads and receive hardly any. I just thought his viewed thing must have been broken as most people will look at your profile if you send them a message or look at theirs (even if it's just to laugh at your ugliness!).

It's all in the profile pic, I have a face like it's been set on fire and put out with a shovel.
A bit of a sun tan and a pair of raybans makes all the difference.
Fickle lot. :D

Interestingly, 83 people have viewed me on OkCupid, since, err... April this year, and I've only had 8 messages that I didn't initiate (and they're all ugly or old obviously). I started using that a couple of months after I first opened an account with PoF.

I've had way more luck on there compared to PoF though - speaking to 3 on MSN almost every day who are all girlfriend material. Unfortunately one's 100 miles away, one's travelling the world at the moment and the other got back with her ex after we started chatting - guh!

Still planning to smash the latter one's pasty tho ;).

^^^ Ha I always get annoyed when I get something back in txt spk. It just makes me think that they don't know how to actually write?

My theory on Internet Dating: Internet Dating is like shopping in TK Max, it's always packed, you will occasionally find something good but only after sifting through piles of **** and you can't help but be a little embarrassed if you see someone you know in there.

Think that sums it up nicely.

This is quite true, on both sides apparently. read this, just got it from a chick in Southampton.

"How refreshing.. After joining this a few weeks ago, I quickly discovering that you have to sift through a lot of sand to find a golden nugget worth talking to. By sand I mean, the egotisticle, testosterone filled, vein, gun-kissing pouter's that will slap the a*** of any 'damn fine piece of meat' that fascilitates a room.

Though sometimes it proves to be a delightful thief of time

Sheizer. That's probably a bit heavy for a first message.
So I think this is where I say Hello...

So hello, I'm millie. ;D"

so, quicklinks proven right.... now, own up, whos sent abuse? :p

I sent a couple of msgs off last night after this thread. Don't you just love reading that they've read it, and then deleted it. Erm. Dammit.

My biggest mission is the intro message. Like, starting with "I'm bl***y useless at this sort of thing..." is not the best starter for ten I have to say.

What is everyone's tactics for the ice breaker? I'm fine in real life or once I get going haha :D
