Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

Well a mate finally talked me into joining plenty of fail as you guys affectionately call it and i am already seeing why you would call it that. Anyways hello fellow internet daters! any tips for a newbie or should i bail out now?
 
Twilight Zone.....

Spent the best part of 3 hours chatting with a girl on match.com today, got on great, exchanged numbers then asked where she lives in paignton, turned out I can see her house from my window as its literally just across the road.

Either that's just creapy or its fate! She's pretty, intelligent and into cars, little bigger than I usually go for though, although her photo's don't really show much below the neck.

I keep thinking about doing this, but just never seem to get round to it. I can never find any photos of me which I think are good enough. :o I think I'll just take the best ones off Facebook of me and go with that. They always say you yourself are your worst critic so maybe they aren't too bad after all!

Now just something to write for my profile...
 
Whey hey! I also have a date with someone tomorrow. My goodness whatever next! She will either turn out to be some sort of loon, or turn out to be ammazing and I will end up fooling it up in a fit of stupid comments! :eek: and lots of :o followed by either a :D or a :( and who knows maybe a :confused:

Ah well, this will be my first ever random date with a person I have never met before, though we having been talking lots on email and sms.

at least it'll give you a fair idea on which pics look best, I've used a multitude of pics with varying results so it gives a broad opinion, though it's pretty shallow, and don't get disheartened by low scores, just means that pic isn't great :p it's not you, it's the angle/lighting/focus ;)
 
I think I have at least 4 good photos for now. I can always add more if I think they are decent enough over time.

Just the written bit now. I really want to get this done before I go to bed or I'll probably go off the idea by the morning. :o
 
My PoF profile is all up and ready to go! I won't be sharing it on here yet :p, but I think I'll send out a few messages then go to bed and have a look at it again in the morning.
 
Wow this is addictive. lol Got my first read/delete (:rolleyes:) and sent out a couple of other messages. I suspect that as it is so late though I won't get many responses and that I should really go to bed!

Tell me about it, i only joined up because a mate sed try it now you're single plus i'd seen this thread so thought why not could be a laugh. Now I have to tear myself away. I'm so ashamed of what i have become :(
 
I've been spending a good few hours today sifting through the masses and sending some messages. My record at the moment stands at 1 read/deleted, 3 read and 6 unread so far. I put a lot of effort in most of my messages, so I hope the women who have just read my messages are keeping them for later so they can send an equally fantastic reply in return. Early days yet, but it would be nice to get a reply to at least one of my messages so far! I think I'm done for a bit as all of this is very tiring. :o
