Wasn't going to post this but What they Hey :o

Let this be a warning to all. :eek: + :p

Went to meet some Doris tuther week, We had been chatting & getting on well you know the story, Anyways went to meet her & didn't fancy her at all. Had to sit feeling awkward for 2 hours or so being sociable but it being blatantly obvious I didn't fancy her, The whole situation was hideous. :p
In the end I pulled the old Prank call myself trick & bailed out. :o

I think the trouble with me is that I type to fast & women I am chatting to take this as us "connecting" as they can have decent conversations with me via text.
That's my theory anyways. :p

Yes I got pics first & Yes we chatted loads but you don't know owt until you've met & then it's God awful if you don't fancy her. :rolleyes: + :p

At this point you can laugh at me. :D
I swear you've mentioned the word "Doris" before... and I keep thinking you're referring to a particular person... But it's just your way of calling the ladies, right? :o

I won't point and laugh. It's happened to me many times before :p
It's pretty obvious when I'm not interested in someone as I keep checking my phone for the time or messages... I remember I legged it once when a guy wasn't looking, I then text him afterwards to say sorry and that I needed an early night :o

While I’m probably not qualified to criticize your profile, I will point out that the first thought that sprang to mind when I saw your photos were; that they are too dark (the first 2).

With my limited but growing knowledge of photography, you are standing the wrong side of the light. The light is behind you in the first 2 photos, meaning the camera will auto expose on the great big area of light it sees, and thus, under-expose the shot. Simply standing with the window in front of you will give you far better photos.

However I’m with MisChief on the “holding the camera a foot above your head” shots, there is just no need, all digital cameras come with some sort of timer function on them, so use it!

Edit: Now I’ve read through it, I did notice some grammatical errors such as;

“I work British Gas”

Missed the word “for” out

and
“I enjoy keeping fit as i strangely find it relaxing after the stresses during the week and a bit of a buzz”

It doesn’t read quite right. The word strangely is positioned incorrectly. It sounds more natural (to me anyway) if worded;
“I enjoy keeping fit as I find it strangely relaxing after the stresses during the week, and a bit of a buzz”

what the hell :DDD i bet the guy was like "ok i know im not the best looking guy around but run away? seriously?" :D
Well I must admit, it's not something I do on a regular basis and it was pretty mean of me :(

However... It was a bit of an unusual date. I was staying round a friends house and the guy happened to be going out with his friends in the same town, so he asked if I wanted to come out and join him as well as bring my friend.

After a few drinks my friend and I were feeling brave and she knew I wasn't interested... So as the guy was walking up the stairs (to the 2nd level in this bar), she said shall we go? Then we legged it before he could turn around and see us :o

At least he wasn't alone for the rest of the night. He might have been a little embarrassed in front of his friends though :D

I know this may sound judgemental, but in this day of facebook etc who doesn't have decent photos of themselves taken by other people??

As soon as I see self portrait photos it strikes me as odd....

Quick question guys. I want to sign up to a free dating site where I can actually talk to someone without having to pay. Which site should I immediately sign up to?

Whilst this is true in some respects, it doesn’t cater for the fact that your friends may not be randomly taking pictures when you are out and about with them. In my case I’m the only one who does take pictures when I’m out and about, purely because I love photography, but I’m rarely on the receiving end of photos as none of my friends take any pictures when we’re out.

And with a timer, the people looking at the photos would never know if a friend took it or not…

I think I might have to put my profile up later, while MisChief is in a blunt mood... I'd rather some straight to the point advice rather than being molly coddled :p

A question for POF veterans: Is there a difference between the "message soandso now" and the "chat" link that appears below the thumbnail pictures? or is it just one and the same?

yes, message is like private message thing, chat is like msn/Skype type thing (and nothing is saved so write down anything you might need to remember ;) )

ahhh I see, thanks!. So do you have more success with the chat function rather than message? I take it something pops up (oo err) on their screen when you click "chat" ?

a little box and an annoying click sound if some asks to chat ;) I prefer to message as it saves everything, and you never know when you might need to go back over it for some info you forget :p but a few of the, well, people that like the letter z (MoNkeE will know what I mean :p) will go down the chat route.

GIRLS Y U NO MGS BK? :(

I must have sent 10 well thought out, non copy and paste messages last night and only 2 replied with a dead end message. I can even see them online now too. Buggers.
