Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

What sort of timescale are you giving them to reply though? I messaged 2 last night (1 of which has actually clicked the yes on the meet me page) but had no reply yet, even though - as you said, they show as online....

timeline I give them is umm..........forever? :p some have replied instantly, others a day or two. had some a few weeks later. don't forget women tend to get more 1st messages than men, so they have to work through all the bad ones, so don't worry if it takes a while for them to message other people first and find out they are not the ones before they get round to messaging you.

I'm not fussed if they don't reply, I just don't want the list of my sent messages building up, then all of a sudden I start getting lots of replies all at once. I wish there was some sort of feature that if they read your initial message and they aren't interested, it told you so I can then send out the next "batch" of messages :p

you can pay for this feature ;)

I delete them after about 3 days, way I see it I will of forgotten who I messaged and they will of forgotten who messaged them after this period. so if I message them again in a few weeks (because they changed their pic or profile so I didn't recognise them, or just because I forgot) then no harm done.

Yes he did! He also messaged me first thing in the morning as if nothing happened.. He was keen :p

Fair enough, I must say though, this internet dating feels like a very impersonal way of meeting somebody, it seems more akin to a car auction where you press a button if you’re interested and ignore it if you’re not!

I remember back in the day (early / late teens) when chat rooms were all the rage and you had a good natter to them, it felt far more social and interactive. That was until media hype about child molesters using them etc caused a knee jerk reaction by the sites and they shut most of them down :(

agree chat rooms were really popular when I was at school. it did seem more social, but this way works too. once the first message is out the way I find my personality comes through. and with the help of loads of people on here, am a lot more confident in text form having a bit of a joke with the right tone.

do you guys worry if no pics are added? she has put 'athletic' as body type. but no pics. I see it as either she is minging, so for obvious reason no pic, or she is stunning, but doesn't want people messaging just because of how she looks.

for the record she messaged me first and I am talking to her, she seems really nice, just wanted you opinions/views.

Play the numbers game & copy/paste a message to loads, Use notepad as POF is wise to copy/paste. :p
I've had Doris get back to me straight away but most leave it an hour or so, Seems to be a bit quicker now most are using there mobys. :rolleyes: + :p

No pics then not even a chat let alone think about meeting her, She'll be a Wilder beast for sure. :D

Hmmm tough one. The way I look at things, if you’re after a relationship, then no matter how nice the personality is, if you’re not attracted to them it isn’t going to work. It might seem shallow, but I could never go out with a girl if I was not physically attracted to her. If I was looking for friends then I wouldn’t care what they look like, but this is, after all, a dating site so looks matter.

I’d personally ask her for a photo as you’ll always be wondering what she looks like when you’re speaking to her
