In my experience POF takes some translation to understand:

Riddle me this..
Why does a girl bother to spend the last 3 weeks talking to me about anything and everything, finding out everything about me, add me to facebook, carry on messaging me, offer me her phone number, text me loads and then a few days before the planned date just vanish all of a sudden....
It's not the first time someone has just vanished out of thin air... I wouldn't mind but the amount of time wasted getting to know them is so frustrating.
From now on, if I don't get a date lined up fairly early on, I'll move on to the next girl.

I went on POF a few years ago but never invested any time in it. Decided to go for Match because it seems to have the highest profile... but not sure if it's really any good. Are they all much of a muchness?

match makes it so that you need to pay and continue paying to get the most out of it, pof as it's free is riddled with penis and puts girls off.

ah gave a girl my number today out of the blue (in that her messages didn't ask for it), thought it was a bit too soon but tbh i am a guy who likes to get **** done and move onto the fun of meeting up and pof messages are somewhat boring, and now she has gone dead. the suspense is killing me message me girl!
This happens IRL too.. last girl I dated was flooding me with texts each time after we'd been out. Had good laughs then just disappeared. Tried calling her mobile and got number unobtainable. No email, never on MSN anymore.
More insight into the world of of crazy each time.

Be careful if you post any photos. Some malicious little golem from this forum (that wasn't gambitt, honest guv) tracked down a girl I posted about and sent her the link to OCUK and my post etc. I then amusingly got a text from her asking if I wanted to be sued for posting the photo and making the comment on OCUK (she even had a link o the site). All completely futile (you can't sue for that) and actually pretty funny (my friends had a good laugh with the story), but just goes to show that some stalky little cretins with no life will take things a step too far if you offend them. Shame really, as until now this thread has provided some good honest laughs and feedback about dating. Guess a little care is now in order.

I just posted that she had clearly put on a lot of weight since the photo was taken... nothing malicious or slanderous (it was factual), and obviously nothing you can get into legal trouble for. Nevertheless, she obviously wasn't impressed (understandable i'm sure). Just a shame someone thought that kind of thing was worth doing in a thread that is supposed to be for the forum. Truly, truly pathetic and the sign of a little person with a big chip on their shoulder.

An identical thing happened to me when I was dabbling in POF, even to the point where they hijacked my account and started talking to people on it. And it originated from this forum.

Only one person made an effort to be purposefully stalky and bitter in this thread with their posts (like going out of your way to quote and change my profile text after we had a little spat), and that was you. I owuld never do the reverse to you, it's just weird. And also that was at the same time I posted about the girl. So yes, until proven otherwise im pretty convinced it was you, as no-one else in this thread during all the time I have been posting in it has displayed any animosity at all. Too much coincidence in terms of timing and your behaviour for me to think otherwise.

As you've probably gathered from the quality of my posts, I'm not the most hard working of individuals. While I did find your pof profile after you posted most of the text here (which took all of 12 seconds - 5 of which were spent picking my nose) and was tempted to try my hand at a little photoshopping of your myspace angles, I remembered that I had more pressing matters to attend to such as finding somewhere to wipe the boogey off my finger. As I've said before, I also have a short attention oooh a piece of candy!

Nah, if they can't be bothered to right more than Hi/Hey I really can't be bothered to be fair and I have about 15+ hobbies interests listed so wouldn't be too hard to drum up an opening sentence.

fair enough. some girls can just be shy and new to having to bother, so i always think give them a chance, but after a few messages yeah you need something else you'll be doing all the work for her possibly stop replying any way
