Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

Let me make this a bit clearer :p

If a guy wanted to change method of contact to a mobile device, they shouldn't just 'drop' me their number and expect a text or a call from me. I think that's a bit rude.

If the conversations between the guy and myself have gone on for a while and I'm keen on them, I would ask for their number (and I have done in the past.)

Even I would feel rude to just 'drop' my number in somebody's inbox.

Edit: Probably because I don't like being told to do things :D "07123456789, text me" - why should I do as I'm told?!

I dont see how that is rude in anyway :-) you are having a convo..hes about to leave and drops his phone number for you to reply? You might be over thinking it.

I'm quite happy to wait for him to get back instead of continuing a conversation over text etc ;)

So how many guys have your number on pof? I ask because I have been given a number and put 2 opportunity's for a casual meet up on the table, she has not taken me up on them. So I'm confused as to why she would give me her number but not meet up. Unless this is just the norm thing to do now. Numbers for everyone!

Probably so she has someone to text, some people love txting.
 
Erm quite a few had my number (but doubt they still have it) and I don't talk to anyone from POF anymore. Apart from one guy who I've got on Facebook but he's been 'friendzoned' a long time ago. I've alway been pretty bad at texting - it could take me hours or days to reply because I'm not a huge fan of texting and always forget to reply :o

I'm not a fan of texting to use as general chat. It's just a bit impersonal. She takes ages to reply and then I think "ah guess she's not interested".

Oh well. I will keep trying pof but it's just browsing the same people all the time. I had a haircut and shaved as well so now I look presentable but 14 years old. Yey....

I find it much better to call. You need to speak to someone to get a proper feel of what they're like. That will be as true for her as it is for you. If you have a nice fun chat then you have a much better chance of getting a date.

I used to work the doors in Merthyr, being english was fun. And yeah, was more people on gear than not lol. I'm all natural though, well, as natural as Maccy D's big macs can be that is lol
 
I don't know if anyone wants to know, but I went on my first ever online dating date last night, eek! It went quite well to be honest, although he seemed less jokey than he was in his messages (which is what attracted me to him - a guy has to have humour :) ), but maybe he was just nervous. He seems a really nice guy so I'd like to meet him again. He even texted me this morning to say he enjoyed meeting me last night, yay!
Just thought I'd write this as I was so worried he might stand me up or look totally different to his profile pics, haha!
 
Most people are funnier on paper, it is not easy to say things off the cuff, even if you can, sometimes that end up being more offensive than funny. So, at least with me, until I really know that person and they get me, I try to refrain from all the jokes that pop into my head.
 
Knocked serial dating on the head for a bit. Met someone I'd like to see on a regular basis and she feels the same way. Off course it's another bloody Swede. Can't seem to turn my arse before bumping into tall blondes from Stockholm :p

Anyway, not complaining. After all, Christmas is coming and I'd like to be in Sweden snowboarding and frolicking in the snow!
