iPhone 2.1 Software

I'm in the process of restoring mine to 2.1 and then using quickpwn to jailbreak and unlock my 2G iPhone so I will get back to you when its done. Fingers crossed mine is fine.

jojo maybe try doing it again but using quickpwn? Just did mine and it recognised I'm on Vodafone straight away.

I'm fairly sure that my battery life is worse since 2.1. I generally charge it overnight anyway, so not a huge issue for me, but I'd be interested if anyone else has noticed this?

I've noticed battery life worse too although I have no solid proof since it charges at home and at work for the most part. Over the weekend I used GPS solidly and the unit lasted for just 2hrs 20mins before red lining on the battery meter.

Battery life sucks for me since 2.1

It needs charging as soon as I get back from work now, while as before it lasted a day and a half

How do you permanently delete an application via WinSCP? I have BeatMaker on the iphone which I deleted via WinSCP (never even knew you could do it by the toggle option on the iphone) and I tried reinstalling it again but it says it could not be completed as Beatmaker is already installed. Any ideas why or how it could be resolved?

I have a ZiPhone'd 1.1.4 2G, with an O2 Simplicity SIM - what are the steps required to get it up and running with the 2.1.0 firmware.

Restore to 2.1 offical and unless you need jailbreak, nothing else (as any O2 sim works out of the box now with 2G iPhones)

Just to qualify that it has to be a UK iPhone for that to be true. There are still a lot of USA sourced original ones floating about!

never had it before. The email is just a photo from the iPhone too

I finally updated my 1.14 2g o2 phone today, followed the following page and all went without problem (Vista 64bit).

Just done 2.0.2 to 2.1. on my jail broken/unlocked 2G results are OK but mail now hangs on launch

Going 3G this weekend so not so much of an issue as it would have been.

That's some settings conflict. Fixed mine by doing a wipe rather than upgrade.

That's an everyday issue for me, with or without photo's lol

Mail.app has a memory leak or something. Force close the bugger and try a resend if you can. Mail reliability is a joke for me, even in 2.1.

No indication of what is in it as of yet. At least we know its being worked on. Push should come with the next update, im 99% sure of that.
