I was looking to upgrading my iPhone 4 to the 5, expecting a larger screen. But hearing that Apple are just going to make it longer is very disappointing. A friend has the S3 and I find the screen amazing. Better for browsing and movies etc.

Just not sure what to do as I both my wife and I own a ton of Apple apps and I don't fancy buying apps I already own again for a different platform. On the other hand quite fancy having Siri at last.
Im a lost iPhone user, will probably get the 5, but it won't be an instant purchase, I'm going to wait and see if it's really worth the upgrade this time. I feel that Apple are slowing down and running out of new and unique features to add to new models.

Most of the paid apps normally have half decent alternatives on android, and Jelly bean does bring google now which is more or less as good as Siri expect you dont have the gimmick side like asking "how are you siri", and it does tend to remove a few steps like autocmatically searching the web if it cant find something. Overally its a good feature to rival Siri.

But I couldnt really recommend anything expect a S3, or waiting for the new line of Nexus phones due around the same time as the new iPhone so you could always compare, if you dont like them then just fall back to the iPhone .

One thing on these new dock connector parts is that there isn't a small metallic ring around (Which suggested to me some sort of magnetic lock, as per MagSafe)

I do hope so.

i dont know how u robbo but i always buy 2 of them for me and for my wife on release date sim free models..

after 2 year use one year 4 and now 4s i am just really bored by iPhone

but my wife loves it cause sorry but apple is really for dummys even my granny could use it if she'll be alive

as i am using 2 phones i already have s3

its amazing phone with amazing features but it looks some cheap phone from china

i cant understand samsung they could make good phones but add some ***.... some metal or something to make s3 more beautiful

You might get USB 3 but definitely not thunderbolt due to some European law I think. They need to keep with the USB charger plug as far as I know*


It would be nice though! Although, they are moving towards no cables so thunderbolt incorporation kinda goes against this.

Not sure about the ip4 but Tesco are offering 300 for the ip4s.

Money4machines offered me £193 saturday. I have the pack ready to send of an immaculate 4. It was £200 on most of them 7 days ago, mazuma etc but mazuma dived to £150 this week

I just need to decide what to do with mine now the wife is sorted with her new 4s. I do like the look of this new iphone but I'm not keen on going bigger.

It seems like the best option for a hassle free sale, I don't think there is much more to be had from a private sale of a mint ip4s.

I submitted o2 recycle quote just 2 days ago which is valid for 14 days. I got offered £185 for 16gb iphone 4 looks like you just missed out and they've only just reduced the amount?

It's such a shame they don't allow smart phone sales on here. I don't see how it's any different from ipad sales. People on here tend to take such good care of their phones and it would be a great place to pick up upgrades as people move on.

I will take my chances on talkphotography for a 2nd hand 4s as I really won't buy one from ebay.

Yesterday I managed to drop my iPhone 4S down the bog! I'd only had it a few weeks, after my last one was replaced by my insurance company. I'm tempted to keep hold of it for now, as it's still working to my surprise! I'd then get it swapped a couple of weeks before the 5 comes with a view to selling it as a brand new device then put some money towards the 5.

What was the reason for that? Surely things have moved on since being able to steal a phone and sell it on the MM? I never see any hassle with iphones sold on the MM on talkphotography, surely they are as safe to sell these days as a laptop or ipad?
