Iphone 5 why so underwhelming?

It was a poor release from HTC really, great design and screen, let down by the software (performance), battery, loads of manufacturing issues and the fact they made the mid-range phone better in some areas - quite odd.
didn't want this thread to come to another Apple v the world thread , just stated that IMO I wasn't that impressed with the features of the phone wether software or hardware related, apple could have added a lot more software features and camera mods IMO but didnt.
I make no bones that what Nokia has done with the 920 is for me far better they have tried to push the boat out and included features never seen before in a phone ....

yeah the s4 in the one s lol strange really , as for screen I went through 4 of the one x phones cause of faulty screens etc , flickering orange dots etc lol

iPhones are very expensive for what they achieve functionality-wise, but they are well branded and well built. Some people like to pay for for that, some don't.
This whole argument is just another example of the ugly human traits of segregation and the desire to classify people. Reminds me of the animals at a football match.

And only in Europe do we get the lame version, the US version was so much better and didnt have as many issues.
iPhones are very expensive for what they achieve functionality-wise, but they are well branded and well built. Some people like to pay for for that, some don't.

Apple are amazing at keeping the costs on their products extremely low, which allows them to sell products at 50%+ profit, this is really crazy and I doubt anyone else could really do this.

So you're certain it works great and can't be improved? All the major phone GUIs can be improved and while iOS is very easy to use it's feeling ever more dated.
What's an iOS style GUI? The app drawer? I really don't understand why I see so much resistance to change in an IT forum, the last 20 years have seen breakneck changes but now we've reached some sort of pinnacle of design we'd best not risk changing? I don't want change for the sake of change but we didn't get where we are today by saying hey we can stop now it's good enough.
Also (and I know it's a low blow but it's bloody true) if Apple were concerned about alienating people they wouldn't have changed the dock connector when there's no advantage to users.
Have you told Google and Microsoft? Someone should let them know they may as well not bother then!

Will get far more than that on ebay etc. or via a friend when the time comes to sell mine (if I even do) especially since it is the S4 version and the black version, which has no chipping problems (apart from the USB port edges)

For me, the biggest disappointment is the OS itself. Whilst functional, it's boring and completely lacking customisation. I don't care that it's easy to use, it's not like an S3, One X or 920 are exactly difficult to use...
I'm not a fan of the screen size either, the 4.7"+ screens on the One X and the S3 are much better.

I am tired of having a huge phone, terrible OS, which takes a rocket scientist to work out, poor battery issues along with bugs and having too much choice. I quit the android club and shall be moving to the iphone 5/iOS club as soon as possible!
On a more serious note now, I do get tired of reading this argument that people use, "iphone easier to use, android just doesn't work out of the box etc." This has been shown to be complete and utter xxxx many times now:

I owns a 3GS and now own a 4S. Was hoping the 5 would be awesome but it's a load of dog dirt with a massive price tag!

Its under whelming so in 6 months time they can release a IP5s with all the things it should have had from the start like NFC, they know apple mugs love to upgrade their shiney 6mth old phones for the latest.
Nah I think Apples next revolutionary step will be the inclusion of a Google Maps and perhaps a Youtube App. NFC will come later
I hate how they use their -S mid-life upgrade to ensure they get purchases from people at any point in a 2 year contract, leaving out easy to add functions from the initial non-S variant that should have been there in the first place.
The Galaxy S to S2 to S3 saw marked improvements each year, whereas Apple almost take a DLC style approach to their upgrade cycle.

Did I say companies should stop trying to get better? No. So again I'll ignore your little rant after that one.
