Like the leather cases, got a tan this time and its aged very well, has a few scratches but overall I like how it looks. I got the Black for my iPhone 6 and that thing just covered any sort of damage which is also great, looked mint after a year of damage.

Interoperability between other iOS devices, if I'm on my iPad and I get a text, phone call or a facetime call I don't have to find my phone, I can take it right there on the iPad, same goes for if I'm on my Macbook Pro.

iCloud to have your music, photo's, documents, etc. - easily accessible across your devices. Internet bookmarks appear automatically, WiFi login details... :)

And other devices. Logging into iCloud on a friends laptop abroad to see photos when my battery had died after a long flight (and forgot the charger!)

Yeah iCloud keychain is very useful to sync passwords across devices, especially useful that it also syncs Wifi passwords across devices also so that I can take my iPad to somewhere I've used Wifi on my iPhone and it will automatically connect to the Wifi network.

I've never had the need to buy an iPhone, as the Mrs has always had one, and indeed now has the 6s. I can't say I notice much difference between the 5s and the new one other than the screen size, and the fact Safari doesn't constant need to refresh web pages. There us the obvious styling differences, thinner etc, but it seems the same, same OS with a few tiny tweaks for force touch etc.

Having forked over £619 for it, versus the absolute bargain Nexus 6 I got from Amazon for £143, I certainly wouldn't say there is no comparison in value for money.

Certain people will no doubt argue that costs are irrelevant, and this only seems to be when discussing phones and laptops etc. Any where else in life value for money, along side function and form are almost measured equally.

There is no where near 4x the function, versus the cost for me, and the £450 saved will stay in the bank or invested earning interest.

Everyone has their own ideas of what is good, and that is what makes for a great debate, for me I love the Nexus 6, and can't really find fault with it presently.

Kind of when off a bit, but you get the idea, great phones bad value for money. :)

I agree that iPhones are overpriced but comparing the 6S price to a used/refurb Nexus 6 is a bit silly! Having said that, the Nexus is a fine phone if you can cope with the size and not being able to see the screen outdoors!!

thinking of selling mine, just dont need the big screen on the 6s plus, feel like im losing money just owning it. its blazing fast and get 40 hours standby on battery but blaaah

me and my tech fetishes, i blame those unboxing videos, i just want them feels

Exactly!

My only problem is the lack of FLAC. Yes there's ALAC, but I'm not changing 50GB+ into a lower quality... (24bit 48/96/192 vs 16/44.1)..
I do agree that FLAC support on the iPhone would be nice but to save effort, I have the box ticked to convert everything down to 128kbps AAC when it syncs to my phone anyway as I simply don't have enough space on my phone to sync the entire library and I can't be bothered to choose and select what gets synced. I just checked and I've got nearly 9,000 tracks on there!

I listen to music from my phone either via £10 bluetooth headphones or out to the car radio (again via bluetooth) so the reduced quality isn't really an issue for me.

I'm interested in what usability features Android is missing. Personally not noticed much different between the 2 platforms, with minor difference here and there. I currently own a 6s and a Nexus 6P so have the best from both platforms.

If you look about a dozen posts back, I've described the differences I find to be the greatest impact... I'm happy to admit that a good portion of it is user preference... I just find iOS more suited to my personal tastes.

One thing I forgot to add, which is one thing that I (perhaps peculiarly) prefer Windows 10 over OSX for... is that to do the same thing, requires few button presses on iOS vs Android... silly little thing, but a frustration none-the-less.

I don't have an issue with any mobile device supporting or not supporting FLAC.

While I have a strong personal preference for FLAC on my home systems and can hear the difference... when it comes to IEMs or over-ears that cost under a grand and especially without an external headphone DAC... it is incredibly hard for me to hear the difference between ALAC and FLAC through the electronics used in ANY mobile device, and Apple happen to have some of the best audio-processing hardware around.

ALAC is incredibly well-tailored to the capabilities of the hardware on offer... it's almost as if they tailored the codec to give the best (smallest) size possible for the hardware on offer... knowing Apple, I wouldn't be surprised if that's what they really did.

My ears are good too... not many of my friends/family can tell the difference between FLAC/MP3-320 on a good system, let alone a phone with headphones.

As for Feek... I haven't found any bluetooth connection to be able to replicate 320-MP3 accurately, let alone FLAC... so the fact you can't tell the difference makes perfect sense. Through the same audio system... whether car or Bose bluetooth speaker... even with 320-MP3... you can tell the improvement via cable vs bluetooth quite distinctly.

Note: 50GB FLAC is NOTHING... that's only 70-100 CDs worth of music and in MP3, that would only be 10GB maximum, so it won't break any bank on the storage front for a conversion. Imagine the same when, like me, you have about 10TB of music... that's a touch different ;)

I can get that done with Google services on iOS and Android, thats not something exclusive to Apple hardware.

Pretty sure google's services can't let me answer phone calls on my iPad whilst my phone is in a different room.
Other stuff? sure to a point, I just find the way its refined and integrated more problem free and user-friendly with iCloud, especially with all my devices. Log in once on setup and everythings good to go.

You can with Google Hangouts :)

Decided to 'upgrade' to a 6S+ space grey. Could anyone recommend a good case for it?

If possible a nice one and tough style one would be appreciated :D

Thanks

Well, after all that bendgate stuff my business partner managed to bend his iPhone 6 in his pocket.

The bottom left of the shell bent backwards creating a gap between the shell and the glass. Definitely not impact damage due to the extent of the bend and the fact that the glass is pristine.

Had one of the official leather cases on it since the moment it came out of the box.

Brought it into the store expecting them to replace it under warranty, nope, £250 to get it fixed (swapped out)

I'd already paid £110 for Apple Care +, so they only charged me £55.

Really not too happy about the whole experience considering all the focus on using a stronger aluminium alloy on the 6S series and improved shell design. Why put all that effort into making it stronger if it was already strong enough? Kind of acknowledging the old material and design might not be up to scratch, no?

I was going to let it go, but it really bothers me that something like this could have happened at all in day to day use. Surely the phone isn't fit for purpose if it's possible to bend in the pocket? When paying so much for a premium top of the line product, this shouldn't happen.

They fobbed me off if the store saying I had to contact Apple support directly if I wanted to take it further. Spent 15 minutes on their website and playing with their support system looking for an email address to forward the work authorization email to along with a cover letter and couldn't find one. Called support and they put me on hold for 15 minutes while they tried to obtain an email address for me. They couldn't, eventually suggested I use the iPhone feedback page, but the character count was too short for the email alone. They then suggested I print out my email and post it to their office in Cork, Ireleand! Errr...what?!

Luckily managed to find an email address for the business team at my local store, but wouldn't have that if I hadn't signed up for a business account only a few weeks ago. What a pain it is trying to email a real person there.

Shame really, I've only ever had really great experience with Apple CS in the past. Quite disappointed with this.

I had a case for mine but it made a large phone even harder to hold, in the end I gave up and go without.

the screen and metal they're using on the 6s/plus is different because after 2.5 months of having it in coat pockets there's not a single scratch on it.

I might replace the screen protector i've got on it as it's getting a bit worn but apart from that it's fine.

Need to upgrade from my HTC One (Original) and the 6s is the only flagship phone out there that's really got my attention. Are there any caveats from coming over from android?

It depends how you use your phone. Do you like customising it? If so, you essentially get none on iOS. Every iPhone looks the same.

Functionality wise they are identical and apps are on-par these days.
